Yeah, i'll wait for dyso or MG to confirm it, but i think i have some pretty horrid recollection of us getting a hiding with Brett making his debut at fullback.London Dave wrote:I think you may have hit it there Ray

heh heh, dyso was imitating Homer Simpson there methinks. Anyhoo...
What fact about Peter McCormack was endlessly mentioned by the media throughout his entire career at Collingwood by the media? It was to do with the reason Collingwood originally recruited him.

Yep. Schoolboy champion full-forward at Assumption college, Kilmore (just like Billy Brainless LOL).London Dave wrote:He was supposed to be a full forward, McKenna's replacement, and ended up at full back.
McCormacks delisting was tragic and cruel. Has was taken by Richmond early in 1986, then from what i recall sacked before the season began, then picked up by Fitzroy, and had the honour of Brian Taylor kicking 6 goals on him in the first quarter at Vic Park, before Gary Pert stifled B.T. somewhat restricting him to a further 4.
Leaves me wondering... Are there any other players in VFL/AFL history who have had 3 clubs in 1 season?

Ian McMullin played for Collingwood btw 1984 - 1987, Essendon btw 1990 - 1992, then returned to Collingwood 1992 - 1993. McMullin suffered from the odd torn hamstring. He played for Essendon against Collingwood in the first meeting in 1992. (Round 4, At Waverley; Collingwood held on to win by 9 points after being 7 goals up at three quarter time with several injuries and Scott Russell suffering diarrhoea - unfortunately was a Collingwood away game) He played for Collingwood in the second meeting against Essendon that year. (Round 19, 88,000 at MCG under lights; an inaccurate Collingwood victory by 22 points - McMullin kicked a great goal from hard against the left forward pocket and crucially set up Daicos for a famous "yoink" goal where he read the bounce as only he can and strolled into the goal square.)

Yep, dave or dysos question.
McCormack played a few games with Richmond, as i remember some Richmond supporters argueing about how he was going.
McMullin will always be remembered for his performance against Fitzroy in the 1984 finals, and also for his strangely shaped head.
