True LD.
MM's insistence of leaving Woey on Braveheart for the whole match is mystifying.
Braveheart kicked 2 goals when the game was over and the ABC comms are now creaming their pants over his influence on the game. When will they see that he only influences a game when the hard work has been done?

I'll give him 4 - cause you can never tell what the tribunal will do these days :P

I think kicking to the non-scoring end was a mistake (in the first quarter) but it's easy in hindsight.

We has a few scoring shots (six?) to 11, and they kicked straight and we didn't. It wasn't as bad in the first quarter as the score board showed, but they controlled the middle. And din't pay for their errors, 9 frees to 2 giving them anything they wanted, especially matty "superman" Lloyd, throws his arms out like superman and get's a free - one day he'll remember he's s'posed to mark the bloody thing!

Hirdy got a few too, that 20 grand is still paying off, but the season was over and theirs wasn't, credit to the boys for not laying down, we beat ehm after quarter time and that's something, if not much, it's soemthing.

Cole will be a champion, McGough still can't kick... Still!

Was Brett Allan serious tonight ?

It was bordering on cheating imo.

i love how how when you wear black and red you can tackle people around the neck, and get the ball given to you!

some damned dodgy umpiring tonight..but that is no excuse for the first quarter :(

did great in the 2nd and 3rd and the start of the 4th tho

We still were undermanned. Let's not forget this guys. Maxwell was killing solomon and as soon as he went off, Solomon started to influence. We controlled the ball but once again poor ball handling let us down.

Well done to Richie Cole, BOG for me.
All this may be summed up in one word - CHARACTER - and if that is not worth developing, nothing is.

Couldn't agree more.....and why half of our brilliant midfield from last week were in our forward line is mystifying.

notice our total points scored 87 and it's friday the 13th
A few thoughts

- we fought it out and we were very brave
- why was'nt mcgough on earlier i thought he made an impact
- tarant great work rate kept presenting
- will mcphee be cited for punching(3 times) tarrant in a marking contest
- will mcveigh be cited for head butting didak
- johnsons bump on holland will that be cited for being reckless
- didak just play the ball dont woory about getting into fights
- umpiring essendon got paid some frees then then collingwood did'nt get any for the same infringements
- goal umpiring 3 poor decisions that went against us
-other than that good effort pies

STOKA

McVeigh didn't headbutt Dids, he punched him in the jaw the dodgy little bugger....but right in front of the ump, so unlikely to be referred to again.

Couldn't agree more on the Didak point, he had one of those games where he reminded me of Jeff Farmer  He has about three of these every year.

That said, we were undermanned, outplayed for 20 minutes and it cost us the game and its not the first time its happened this year, just a different quarter (Fourth against Carlton and Melbourne as an example) but the game reminded me of West Coast at the Dome last year, pumped early, made up the ground to only get shot down again....catch up football in any weather is bloody hard going, just created a rod for our own back. I knew we were in trouble 2 minutes into the game when Davis missed the goal after the handball recieve from Licca, if he misses them early on, its tell tale signs, and then for 'soft as' Watson to get that goal on the transfer back....stings!

Phantom....don't know if Maxwell had Solomon covered, Solomon did a heap of bulk work that just open doors in that first quarter....was fantastic I thought.

Regardless of what anyone says, James Hird is one of the greatest footballers to grace the AFL....he is an out and out champion of the game.

Could have been a lot worse though guys, we could have rolled over and died at quarter time and lost by 90.

Nath - deadset looked a soft head butt on the replay on the TV - never know may get some coverage with the Kerr headbutt thing last week

Dids looked like someone who hasn't played for a while - is a "touch player who looked out of touch understandably tonight

First quarter cost us - but what the hell was Brett Allen on - good odds?

I hardly ever whinge about umpiring but I was yelling at the tv and throwing stuff at it I was so angry. Was the most pathetic one sided umpiring display since the Essendon Sydney game. That being said we were still beaten by the better side. We really lacked tall targets up forward. I really hope Mckee has played his last game for the year, I love the guy but he just doesn't look up to it, give crow a chance in his spot.
