I say bring back Ben Kinnear for this one game. The instruction would be simple. "Ben you have done shit all in 7 years at Collingwood. You will probably never play an AFL game again. Give Hird the best hip and shoulder he has ever got in his life. In the process, ensure you stick the elbow right in his ribs. And make sure this is done in the first 2 minutes of the game.
Then Ben, I would like you to turn your attention to Lloyd if he is playing. I want you to make sure you do a massive specky into him and stick that knee right into the Shoulder. If you miss the shoulder, the back of the head would be just as good. "
The Pies by 5 goals. Lets stuff their finals chances completely and continue their slide down the ladder to eventual wooden spooners.

If we can control the midfield like we did against the dockers, we will absolutely smash them - even without a forward line.
Essenscum do know how to play in the big games, unlike the shockers. Hopefully Jimmy pulls up, as we desperately need a senior member in the backline. If Jimmy misses, we may struggle to hold them to a low score with such an inexperienced backline.

Re: Whoopass!
Looks good MY. I am not sure if you can use the official sponsor logos in an unofficial website - i.e fan site. Might be a good idea to check the legal aspect before you go public.Magpieyouth wrote:Open a can of Whoopass I say! We will kill the bumbers, by 100 points!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! do you like my start of my webpage for the Maggies! and comments please feel free to suggest adjustments!
I will volunteer any help if you need any in getting it going. However, I live in Melbourne though .

From the Meteorological Bureau:
With the game at the MCG, at night, methinks conditions will suit us. The Bombers don't like playing away from the comfortable conditions of the Dome.Friday will see a rainband extend eastwards across the State in the morning with the chance of thunderstorms then colder showery conditions to follow. Snowfalls will develop again over Alpine parts. Northerly winds will turn southwest to southerly from the west and freshen.

Lloyd update.
---------------------------
No Lloyd ??
Saturday - No way/highly unlikely
Sunday - 60/40
Monday - 50/50
Tuesday - Lloyd 'will play' - from an article in Fox Sports
http://foxsports.news.com.au/story/0,86 ... 11,00.html
MATTHEW Lloyd is likely to be fit to play against Collingwood at the MCG on Friday night in what coach Kevin Sheedy describes as the Bombers' first final.
Lloyd injured his shoulder against Carlton on Saturday and didn't train yesterday, but Sheedy said daily treatment should allow the champion full-forward to recover in time.
We're pretty confident we'll get him up," Sheedy said before training at Windy Hill.
--------------------------------
He could have a slight bruise to a broken arm and the reports would still resemble the above.

A message to spoljar - i like the way you think. bloody legend mate.
if sheedy says that lloyd will play, consider him out. i don't reckon he'll play but if he actually does, i reckon we'll keep him quiet.
bring mcGough in regardless of the weather. when we had him in the side, he worked well in the middle, got a lot of center clearances.
i reckon we'll beat em, we seem to love to bugger up others finals runs. plus, we wanna finish on a high!!!!
i honestly thought shaw played pretty well on friday night. he made a few blunders but who doesn't ? and looking at the blunders, he really didn't have much to go to. i thought he improved quite well.
what are other peoples thoughts on shaw? particulary his performance against freo.

I'm not sure why some people want it to pour down with rain on Friday night. For there to be any hope of us making the finals we need to win this game by as much as possible and wet weather will most likely see to a low scoring result.
If we play anything close to the way we played against Freo we should win easily, so long as Essendon don't rise to the occasion and make a game out of it. Without Lloyd they have no forward line and even if he plays it may be an easier task to stop him due to his injury. Also the midfield is Essendon's biggest weakness and with our midfield at the top of their game should see us dominate in that area.
If the weather holds up, Lloyd is restrained, and we can kick accurately, theres a good chance we can win by 10 goals, which really is whats needed to have any chance of making the finals.
