Pre-Match: Pies v. Bombers - All comments
At droche's request, here is the pre-game thread. I think we'll let this one run, and keep the post-match up for a little while longer.
Anyway, will we win? We have won the last 3, and have a 7-4 record for the last 11 games.
Lloyd may miss, and the Bombers were beaten by Carlton on the weekend.
Discuss away.

If McG comes in he has to replace someone like Rowe who did nothing last week. In fact he did less than nothing, he turned the ball over every time he touched it. Crow on the other hand did well last week and deserves another game.
With no Lloyd or at the very most being held back by an unfit liablilty, Essendon's forward line looks distinctly weaker. Given their midfield was towelled up by CARLTON (!!!) last week we should be able to continue our good form and smash them.
Our boys by 30 points.....hopefully....please....i'm begging you...

The frankforts will be desperate to win this, but will hopefully demoralised after their loss to the scum. Hopefully our win will gives us belief and give them some pain for Anzac day. It will be a hard assignment down back yet again. Hopefully Lloyd doesn't play as Clement will be on hird as per usual, but then again Johnson could be tested as tagger on Turd? All in All we owe them one lets dismantle sheedy shitbags by 30 points!

Lloyd might play after all ... but I don't care really LOL. We can still beat 'em.
On another note ... anyone know how Guy Richards is coming up? He's been listed as having a groin injury .... but no further news and it's not been listed as a season ending injury. Guess everyone's forgotten about him
Hope Clemo plays .. he's had surgery yesterday and hopefully will come up good as Wakes did.

Will the same tactics work v Ess? MM really did his homework but will need something new again as sheedy and harvey will have thoroughly dissected the tapes. Youngns' will have to stand up again. King did his job well (can he repeat?) Crow can be a distraction b/c of size. Rowe is quick and can certainly find space but his disposal has been ordinary. Maxwell wow!! Ess will target them (or any others new) MM has been unorthodox and the players have responded enthusiastically. If the game was fought on paper or via statistics we would be trounced but MM has them playing with vigour and belief. Conversely Ess is feeling the pressure and are begining to doubt themselves esp if no lloyd. They are vulnerable.

I believe Richards will be out for the rest of the season. Depending on which injury list you look at, he's listed as either "indefinite" or "out for season". In reality, I think the two mean the same thing. It's a groin injury, so not worth taking risks with, as he'll be our first ruck next season and I'd rather he did a full pre-season without any complications.foreigner wrote: On another note ... anyone know how Guy Richards is coming up? Essendon will respond to Sheedy's bake. I hope I'm wrong like I was with the Dockers. Scum by 18.
Hird is always a problem. I think i would hand him to Brodie if I'm serious. Brodie has dismantled many midfielders since his return from suspension, and racked up possessions to boot - but that is hard to do with Hird who will sit at half-back like Bowden did and rack up stats.
So is Lloyd, but you would think he would miss in spite of whatever Sheedy says.
Lucas usually plays well but seems injured or underdone.
This seems silly considering we by rights should be wearing Willi jumpers but we need to not underestimate the bombers.
Players we need to take down are obviously Hird, Fat Pig Rioli does damage (if he plays), the Johnsons & McPhee.
If you take McPhee and Hird out they are just about toast provided Lloyd is out and Lucas is playing injured.
I would imagine Lucas or Hird will play FF for a while, maybe even Murphy Solomon or McPhee. Maybe they will rotate.
Peverill will go after Bucks or whoever is hot. So playing Bucks at HB or HF could be handy to get Mrs Mac's Lovechild (all you Hey Hey fans should get that one...) away from the ball.
If we keep using our new game plan, the run on style, which we have used to good effect against Hawthorn, Bulldogs, Richmond & Freo they may not be able to go with us. Chip and we die. Freo is the first big scalp - can we get a couple more with it before the season ends? I hope so.
This is not the Dome, and you would think is a bloody good chance to be cold and wet which means no Shaw or Rowe and McGough in. Little Dermie might keep snagging them and secure a future spot as well.
Maybe we should even bring back WILLIAMS! See if he can save his career with a snag or two.
