QUOTE:

This is what i wrote on Thursday.

Keep in mind that Freo haven't played well all year at home.

The difference in the last few weeks is that we don't just rely on our 2 forwards and have found other people to kick goals.

I think this may confuse Freo and I am Picking the pies for an upset.

We owe them one.

Pies by 13 points.

Fair enough.. i know a few people who thought the same.
I don't really have much faith in the boys this year. One week their world beaters, then the next, they're timid and weak. This week however, i'm quite confident.

They are tackling again

Post by FunkyPieMaster »

Notice how in the past three games the Pies, despite having less players than ever, are actually starting to tackle?

This has been missing from their games since last year's GF. They are starting to show a lot more desperation than in previous matches.

If you play hard, you win. Lets hope they keep it up for the rest of the season and take something away for next year.
I still reckon Rocca got that goal

We didn't get our 40 acres and a mule
But you're my piece of the rock
And I love you CC

It's very evident in the competition this year (more than ever before) that if you drop your intensity by even 5% you will lose, regardless of who you are and who you are playing. That is why Geelong are firming as September challenges because the top 4 are not playing consistently week in - week out, whereas the Cats are.

OK ok I'll admit I tipped against us. :( :( :(

Sorry but at least I wanted to gain some tipping points to brag about. There was nothing much else this season, until the last couple of weeks.

I promise I'll never ever in my life will again tip against us ... happy now? :P

yes yes and more yes. Carlton beating the bombers was hard because i hate both sides.

I am still bleeding that we wont be there in September, our preseason is looking good at the moment, very happy the last 3 weeks.

Three days after the game and I am still on a HIGH !!! What a game ..
I was soooo proud of the whole team, what a gutsy effort from the first bounce to the final siren...I was hardly on my chair the whole night. God I love my Magpies..and Mick is a legend !

Bring on Essendon !

Hell yes. At school on Friday, i was in an argument with a few Collingwood hating dickheads, and one (Fremantle supporter) was saying to me that Collingwood are t soft, and don;t stand a chance against Freo.. he also went on to say that Jimmy Clement, Leon Davis, Nick Maxwell, David King and Josh Fraser were weak.. HA!..... the fag was speachless today.. he didn't even look at me! I just smiled and waved at him. How wrong he was.

The past 2 seasons there have been so many games that have really stood out and that I will always remeber. Eg. Coll vs Adel - Tarrant kicking a goal after the siren 03 and Coll vs Bris when McGough went off and we won by 8 points at TD in 2002. This year I did not think there would a game that I could look back on and say that it was a great win. But I think this was a game that showed the true spirit of the Collingwood Football Club and one that holds us in good sted for next year. There were so many positives.
Congratulations to the whole 22 players and the coaching staff who put in so much hardwork to prepare for the game.
It was well deserved.. and I cannot wait till Friday night where we can also bring out the "soft" and "weak" side in Essendon!

GO PIES!

We could end up liek the Saints of last year, winning most of their last few games and hitting 2004 with momentum. Thats what we should be aiming to do.
