What a memorable win!
I'm really liking King down forward, he has performed will down there the last few weeks, and has managed to kick a few goals each game. He is probably our best performed forward of late (seeing as though Taz and Rocca have been out).
Pretty much a good even performance by everyone.
Leon was very good, his best game for the club. The worrying thing is, he said he played like that because he was back home. Leon, don't tell me that you only played like that because you were home, you have the potential to play like that EVERY week. Stamp yourself on the game mate.
Clement is inspirational. He would just about be the best backman in the game at the minute. Playing with a broken cheekbone, that takes some guts. He even shaped up and get into a bit of biff after it had happened. I wouldn't be suprised if Clement is the next captain. Pure class that bloke. Thank god we picked him up a few years ago.
Maxwell kept a level head in defence, which was great to see from the youngster, and Crow did very well early. Coley was sensational running out of the backline, and although he was beaten a couple of times by Farmer, I think Cole did more damage running out of attack. Johhno was good, and Bucks was good in the first qtr, before going quiet, and then firing up in the last qtr.
Licca, Woey, Burns etc played very good games in the midfield. Anyway, I've missed plenty of people, but is was a very good effort by most.
Well done guys!
Btw, for the past 11 games we have a 7-4 record. Pretty good I reckon considering our injuries, and it puts us in good stead for next year.

I am just so pround of every player out there last ngiht. They were amazing.
Maxies courage, Licca's fitness, Jonnos run, Bucks' skill, Burnsy's hardness, Tarrant's hands and Jimmy's courage. They were all fantastic last night and burnt Freo. Davis was great and nwo wilol hold his spot in the middle for hopefully another 7 seasons. Woey was great, getting back to his Melbourne form.
GO PIES!!!!!!!!

Fantastic win by the boys! Especially pleasing was that 3 guys who have copped a lot of abuse on this site over a period of time were probably our 3 best last night; Leon, Woey & O'Bree.
The spirit looked great during and after the game; easily the most enjoyable win of the year.
I knew those 2 games against the Blues & D's would come back to haunt us. We'd be on 40 pts!!! Aahh well.......

From Magpie_Dan:
It was a great team effort last night and I think I heard one of the commentators mention we had 13 or 14 different scorers for the game!
So what players would you give the votes to?
Shane'O'Bree
David King
James Clement
Leon Davis
Nick Maxwell
Shane Wowoedin
Josh Fraser
Nathan Buckley
Ben Johnson
Brodie Holland
Tarkyn Lockyer
EVEN Steve Meckee played well!
To Make it easier for myself, I will give votes as if I was on the Sunday Footy Show Panel!
Shane'O'Bree- 8
Leon Davis- 7
James Clement- 6
Brodie Holland- 5
Shane Wowoedin- 4
Nick Maxwell- 3
Nathan Buckley- 2
David King- 1
As I said very hard to give votes!

From deck:
Just read on big footy that a saturday morning radio show in perth with peter bell. The host made remarks indicating freo won the match last night. Bell went on to say he was very upbeat today and happy with playing in front of such a big crowd.

That was undoubtedly the best game the Pies have played in Perth. Even taking into account the poor kicking for goal. The ball handling under pressure was superb. The domination at the centre clearances and other stoppages. The fact that every player on the team when necessary made a contest with a ball in dispute. I have bore witness to some appalling displays by the Pies over here the most recent being the Wizard Cup match. The game last night was at the other end of the pendulum in comparison. Even if we lose our final 3 games the memory of that match will still being a big smile to face of all WA based supporters. Wins over here are rarer than truth in politics. A big thanks to the team on behalf of all WA supporters.
Chuffed to have seen 3 flag wins in my lifetime but still greedy for more.

Looks like the Dorkers pulled a Port Power 2002QF - "Hey guys - we're gonna win this one EASY". Ba-booooooowwww.
Fair bet to say that James Clement is every bit the EQUAL of what Shane Morwood was to us years ago.
I'm actually glad we won't play in the finals with ALL our key defenders now gone for the year. If somebody had suggested earlier in the year that Maxwell and Crow would be the bookends of our defense by rnd.20, we would have laughed our collective arses off.
Isn't this Clemo's 2ND eye injury this year? Perhaps the Melbourne pre-season game was the other?
Great win, but Lloyd and the other skirts will give us plenty of grief next week.
