PRE-MATCH - COLLINGWOOD v dockers...all comments here...
Okay, how are we going to do? (And just a reminder to 'keep your eye on the ball and not on the man' when posting - I think we've had enough in-fighting for one week!).
The odds are definitely against us but it would be nice to finish the season on a high with a string of wins - and wining interstate could be a good confidence booster.
I know I'm a walking optimist but I reckon Pies by 12 points (fingers crossed!).

I think people are underestimating the Richmond game because it was Richmond - but our handballing was mostly very snappy, disposal good and pretty good midfield skills. Richmond are improving and obviously with our injury situation it wasn't going to be a brilliant game esp the forward line. Walker needs to improve his marking to be a good forward but ought to do well as a backman next week.
We don't have a hope if Tas doesn't come back in. If he does we also need another tall forward (with Tex in backline) - can't think of anyone else so that leaves you guessed it...Kinnear for a last gasp at salvaging his AFL career. Even if he can't do any better than Walker he could play a decent supporting role, maybe plant him in the goalsquare.
I thought Shack was impressive for a firstgamer, hope they persevere with him and maybe try out another newbie - Nixon, Crow or a Shaw? Might need Mccough-up also for clearances, despite his poor kicking (when he sorts out kicking he will be a star, but that might take 2 seasons - how long will it take Obree?) maybe he can rotate forward with Buckley.
PS if Richmond game was any indication, keep Woey away from the backline - nearly cost us the game with 3 woey-ful mistakes that cost us 2 goals 1 - a kickout coughup, a terrible infringement and a non-spoil. But I suppose he more than made up for it in general play. King's match-winning goal was a lot more than just luck and should not be underestimated - was a beautifully timed run in a high pressure situation.

Chances are it will be wet all week ... bokka I agree McG may be a good inclusion to get in and under in the slosh. Taz will hopefully be up for it and ready to kick a bag relieving the pressure on the goalkicking front.
Shack will hopefully have impressed Mick enough to keep him in... we owe them regardless they have embarrassed us at home now it's their turn. Farmer to be crunched by a Shack Attack !!

Let all your troubles be forgot for we are Collingwood. We'll fight it out until the end we're Collingwood. So help me Jock.
Two pies and two beers thanks!!

I agree with Joel on this one. As much as I would love to see us win it would be a hard task with a full line-up. With our weakened line-up we will struggle.
My best guess would be for us to push them for the first half, fall away in the third quarter and play out a strong last quarter to go down by 25.
If I am wrong and we win I will be a very happy man!!

The thing about Mccough-up is he is incredibly good at clearing the ball out of a pack (rain or shine I sheepishly suggest). Even 50/50 helicopters are better than Freo getting clear breaks using their classy midfielders and organised set-ups, since it randomizes the play as well as obviously getting it closer to our goal. And of course his hand disposal is AFL standard. That would free Buckley forward a lot more - he was needed too much as a midfielder on Saturday to be used much up forward which was very limiting. Helicopters in the general direction of Tas and Buckley are not so bad.
Anyway I'm going to try to do something useful now.

Can't see us kicking a winning score even if Tazza does play. Its weird,at full strength we lack backup key position defenders, but given all our injuries, scoring goals will be our major concern.Clement has done a sterling job all year and him and Johnno will fight it out for the Copeland. We played without 4 member of our spine on Saturday.Wakes,Presti,Rock and Taz.The only one that played was Bucks. With or without Taz,Dockers by 10 goals unfortunately.
