So again some "perceptive fellow" are pissed off because the undermanned but very spirited pies were able to defy death in the closing stanza and pull out a victory that stunk of what this club is all about, this was an heroic victory it is what this football club is all about.
The last 2 minutes of yesterdays game i would not trade for all the money in the world as this young collingwood team refused to surrender this is why we barrack for collingwood its the reason why we are so passionate.
I was proud so very proud of the boys yesterday as i woke this morning i was still on a high, i couldnt give a shit about priority draft picks i dont give a damn about finals and i couldnt give a rats about which player was beter than
the other to do so would be missing the point of what yesterday was all about
Yesterday was about a club who all year has had nothing go its way, lack of form, bullcrap tribunal decisions and injuries to star key players just have a look who didnt play for the pies yesterday and if your still pissed about our wonderful victory either this weeks or last weeks do us all a favour and dont go renewing your membership next year to be quite honest the rest of us would be happier to be in the trenches without you.
Over the remaining weeks and possibly throughout summer when reflecting upon the highlites of this season and seeeing a young red headed kid by the name of David King running in to open goal giving the pies victory when it all seemed lost tells me with sensible recruiting at years end will see a collingwood side not far from premiership glory.
To see a collingwood side never ever give in is the reason why so many of us love this club so much!!!!...dont dismiss this win as just a win over mediocre opposition this win yesterday was the start of the chapter or the story or whatever you want to call it about the rise of the pies in 2005.
It was a bloody ripper.

I am really annoyed as to how the media have reported this win saying that Richmond were unlucky and spirited. What a croc of shit!
If you consider the Pies were without Tarrant, Rocca, Didak, Presti and Wakelin just to name a few, it was the Pies that were spirited. That is basically our entire forward line and spine. Well done to the boys. I think the boys have discovered what its all about. Finding other avenues and finding a way to win.
Just on another point, in my view, Full Strenght Pies vs Full Strength Tigers = 8 goal win to the Pies. We are that much better than them!

I found that strange that the media were going on about how brave the tigers were. I guess i shouldn;t be surprised tho. You would have thought that with the guys we had out that the tigers would have been favourites.
btw, that goal by ryan lonie on the boundary line was a highlight for me. I hope he keeps stepping up
well done 2 another win pies.
heres 2 the yr 2005

We dont need to be flexible with him anymore, we have Johno & Cole for run out of backline plus Woewy, we now have Rowe( 187cm) to play on a wing & Lockyer if need be. To have a guy the size & pace of Lonie across half forward can only cause problems for opposition. Sure if we have an unbalanced side ( like now) u could put him back for some drive, but otherwise its half forward line all the way.

We need flexible players who can play forward or back. All the great teams have blokes who can change over and cause mismatches. It can win you close games, finals etc. Sheedy, Matthews & the like specialise in having their guys go forward when needed and back when needed. That is what Malthouse is all about as well.
Get back on top.

Post Match vs tiges
Well said, Joffa Corfe. I agree with you 100% and it really riled on me to hear the commentators talking about how spirited and brave the tigers were. What do our boys have to do to get a compliment these days?! It was the tenacity of the young guys mostly, guys like Richie Cole and David King, with help from Brodie, Woey and Licca, that got yesterday's game won in the final minutes. We just wanted it more than they did and were better at applying pressure when it counted. Not only that but our second stringers and young guys are more accurate in front of goal than their mob. I just hope Shack gets more game time next week. Lonie was brilliant. Back, forward, wherever. Along with Bucks he is probably one of our most flexible players. It should stay that way.
Congrats Bucks, on a great return! Bring on the Crows!
