Last night was great to see!
The boys showing heart and hardness at the football
High 5's and Hugging after every goal in the last quarter
The confidence of Cole and Shaw running through the middle
Another solid game from Burns, Fraser, Bucks and Jimmy
King, Tex and Rowe given a go (pity about the injury to Rowey)
Courage of Maxwell
Lonie's work up forward
Brodie's second half in the middle
Johnno playing one of his better games in recent weeks
Scoring 17 goals without our guns up forward
I still can't get used to the fact we aren't in the finals race but I know that for the rest of the season the boys will go out there and play their hearts out and give me joy all the same.
The Best is yet to Come..

Good win from the boys. They simply wanted it more than the Bulldogs. I am glad they are not looking to throw away games, as it would create a losing culture at the club which we do not want.
I would not get too carried away with the win. At the end of the day, we did not beat an opposition of any note, as the Bulldogs, if anything have gone backwards this year.
Great to see players such as Walker and King put up their hands and show that they may yet be long term prospects for the Pies.

Exactly right. Brisbane, St kilda, Melbourne & Port all have several of this type of player. Didak & Davis dont do anywhere it near enough.piedys wrote:Still nobody placed front-and-square for the ball that spills from the marking contest.
Surely Gavin Brown needs Leon to do this task?
It was a good win in the end though. Nice to see us running over the top at the end for a change. The O'Bree situation is becoming quite sad. He's just completely lost it.
The Bulldogs play Hawthorn in a few weeks time, should be a gripping encounter.

2nd highest score of the year scored witout rocca, tarrent and dids. Maybe this says something about the bulldogs defence however could it be that we r to concious "spelling" of these guys eg we use them every time we come forward?? game plan was a little more direct last nite and it showed on the socre board, go pies.

We beat the bulldogs; we also beat Hawthorn and look where they both are on the ladder. My view is the dogs wanted to lose and had no interest in winning. They are going for priorities in the draft.
My highlight was Walker actually getting the ball, more than he has done in his past games where he physically struggled to actually touch it. Rowe was doing well till he got injured.
Bulldogs are shite; we killed them in the centre and with our C grade forwards we pumped them.
Keep playing the kids and we will benefit in 2005.

Lockyer - 5/10 - Got alot of the ball, but time and time again he doesnt put his body on the line..
Bit tough don't you think, even if I agree on 5/10, which I don't to say he doesnt put his body on the line is outrageous, how long has he been back 5 maybe 6 weeks and look what he has done. Give the bloke a break please.

Considering we didn't have the whole of our first-choice spine for all but five minutes of this game (Presti, Wakes, Richard, Rocca, Taz), also adding Didak, and C2 - we should not have been able to win against any opposition. We had no right to - yet we did!!
It's not about who you DON'T have in your side, it is about who you DO have in - they are the ones who have to play and try and win in adversity.
I say I am very pleased that we were able to even win, let alone give the dogs a touch-up!!!
