Cannibal, i like your thinking, but if we dont play lica and holland, they will smash us in the middle. An attacking forward line wont do us much good if they constantly clear from the centre...

we need to lock them down in the 1st quarter. Perhaps play woey off the bench, wait till brisbane has a few knocks and spends some energy, then put woey on...

Pies to be within 30 points at half time.
Pies within 24 at three quarter time.
Lions by 54 at the final siren as the lack of conditioning will get us trampled by a pride of Lions in the last quarter.

I realised there were risks when I named the side and appreciate your pointing them out, Shades. What I am happy to clarify, though, is that our defensive gameplan doesn't work against Brisbane, because they are too talented to be held all day, but especially in the first quarter, so we need another, different approach. I'd far rather take a risk that we could be thumped by ten goals if it goes wrong but at least gives us an opportunity to win, than play a defensive game to try to limit the damage to, say, five goals. No-one expects us to win this week, least of all ourselves, so I would like to see MM take some risks. We have, after all, nothing more to lose.

Cam never give Johnny gastev's old team any praise, robert walls has been doing the job beneath the desk for the last three years!

I'm usually a positive person, but not even i can see a way of us winning.. they have way too much talent and class to lose to a team like us. With key players still nursing injuries, we will most likely get blown away in the first qtr, have a bit of a crack in the second and halfway through the third, but then get trampled on as the game nears it's end. All i ask of our boys is that they have a red hot go, and just dont get blown away. We are playing for pride right now, and if we get slaughtered, all that pride will be blown out the window. I hope to god we win but i just can't see it happening at the moment.

Anything is possible on any given day.

Just want Johnno, Lonie and Shacks (should he get a game) to put in good ones, as two of those three need the form and the other deserves his opportunity

3rd, it ain't Johnny Gastev's old team... You would be referring to a Queensland team called the Brisbane Bears.

The last three years Walls has been blowing (ahem) about the Brisbane-based Fitzroy-claimed Queensland State Of Origin Jacksonville Lions. Fully funded and they even get their mini-bars paid for on interstate trips...
Get back on top.

Cannibal - you have Johnson, Shackleton and Davis on the ball against 3 Brownlow medalists and more. No good having those tall options up forward if teh ball never gets past the centre line.

3 pretty-much on-ball rookies against the Lions midfield...um, have another go at assembling our team please.

Anyways, we are:

a) the slowest movers of the ball in the league
b) quite a boring team risk and run-wise (apart from Didak)
c) Poorly skilled
d) Poor starters
e) Can't run out games
f) all of the above

I nominate "g": "f" and then some!

Ever since we embarrassed Brisbane in last year's finals (lettign them kick just 1 goal after half time, they are hell-bent on embarrassing us ten times as bad for as long as possible. They will cruise to the line, showing flashes of brilliance when required if we get close during the game.

Shaq has signed with the Miami Heat. Time for our own to make the headlines - play the kid!

im hoping for a shock win but its unlikely

lynch aka needles will be playing his 300th game IF he comes down  to play, hopefully who ever picks him up can clean him up

the lions will be to strong and we turned the ball over to many times last week.

play some younger players and make them go hard at the ball and at the bear players

Wow...that is the most underwhelming change in history...

I likes my Lokan and I can forgive Shaw...but replacing Tarrant and Didak with them (not that there was a choice in dropping the two)...

Wow...

Why not just drop half the team and let whoever's left at Williamstown who hasn't had a run have a run? Smash the senior team by a thousand goals or smash a team of rookies by a thousand goals, I doubt morale will be all that different either way. Confidence will drop all around.

Wow...
Match in the gas tank...

Boom, boom.

How O'Bree stays in surprises me. You can't survive on reputation alone. Thats what happened to Sav in his last season at Collingwood. Get the boy back to Willi.
