Hi all!
GREAT to hear that we smashed the Hawks by 65 points last week, this is the first time i've been on the net since i found out we got beat by sydney (yep good old singapore airport).
Cloke out Maxwell in seems a fair swap, and with the same team as last week we should be set for a good game. Many of you are saying that you think Shaw will be in the side, but if MM had any faith in him wouldn't he have played him against the Dees when we needed him? It would be good to see him in and if he plays well i will be happy for the guy. I'm not a fan of his by any stretch of the imagination but he can play a role in our team if we are on song.
That's about all i have to say lol... can anyone fill me in on how Julian Rowe and Obree are going in a PM?
Cheers everyone, have a good few weeks and hopefully Collingwood is on a 4 game winning streak when i come back on August 1st

Cloke unlucky to get a knock, has been very good in recent weeks.
Good to see Maxwell get another run, part of the backline's future.
Rowe doubtful, hammy strain, hope he is okay to play, really like the look of him.
MCG, talented and stiff to be missing out but, his limitations continue to catch up with him. A Heath Scotland like career is shaping or he may ask to be traded sooner rather than later. Love the kid and think its a shame.
O'Bree, trade bait?
Williams, absolutely gone what the f@$%k is he doing as an emmergency, not a kid and not part of the future.
Good to see Swan getting some games into him.
BUT THE BIG STORY IS: what was Harvey on about on sports today saying Taz and Rocca out and Taz unlikely to play again this year? I was only told this, anyone actually hear it?

Did anyone read the Sun the other day about Fraser and his 100th game.
They said he played his first against Hawthorn and that day the score was 20 goals 20 behinds!!!!!!
Funny how this happens
BRING IT ON.

Geelong are 5th on the ladder and we're 13th, yet are quietly confident going into the match. That defies both form and logic.
The recent form of both sides is good, Geelong's the better. Geelong's two recent losses in the last five rounds were to WCE in Perth by just 2 points and against Port by 4 points in Adelaide. They beat Brisbane by 5 goals at Kardinia Park just before the break, outscoring them in the last Q to win comfortably after a close game to that point. I don't see the travel and slog of the WCE game being a factor, as Geelong were coming off a fortnight's break and should recover fairly well.
Last year, Geelong played right up to us in both games before we kicked away in the last quarter. We have not shown that same ability to play the full four quarters against any side yet and that must be a worry against a Geelong side that has been coming home very strongly this year, particularly last week and the previous game against Brisbane.
And yet........
Collingwood are starting to gain momentum. Our last six games have brought four wins and two losses, the latter by a mere goal or thereabouts, depsite having chances to win both. Our injury worries of the first 8 rounds have dissipated and MM's policy of playing the inexperienced kids has borne fruit, with our depth substantially improved.
Our defence is settling down into the tough, tight unit is has been for the last two years and Ritchie Cole has stepped up to become a key part of it. Maxwell has impressed in his few runs with the side and overall, this is looking to be a very tough hurdle for the Cats.
What impresses me is the potential of the quicker players on the Telstra surface. If Dids and Leon could do so well last week, how will they fare on the firmer surface of the Dome? Perhaps better, we would hope.
In past matches, Cameron Ling, with the aid of some dubious infringing holding tactics from his mates, has held Bucks and thus shut our powerhouse down. Now, we find ourselves with multiple options in the middle (and MM favouring Bucks as a forward) and one doubts Geelong's ability to clone a number of Lings in the next few hours to hold all our guys. In the past two years, we've also been roving to losing rucks but now, we find ourselves with a dominant ruckman in Fraser.
I think the latter will be the key to this match. Our forward line is only a winning one with both Taz and Pebbles playing and in form. Taz and Pebbles love the Dome. Taz has beaten Scarlett, arguably the best backman going around at the moment, so a winning ruck giving our small blokes first use of the ball suggests we can move the ball quickly into the forward line and thus give our talls a chance to go one out instead of being double-teamed. If Lonie plays on a wing and adds his speed, marking and accurate disposal to the mix, we could find ourselves winning all over the ground.
However, Geelong should never, ever be underestimated. They are the real deal and will be playing finals this year. They have a terrific backline and midfield. With King back in the ruck, and the kids of the last 2-3 years now starting to hit their straps, they have been winning the centre clearances comfortably.
In the end, I think our improving midfield is at least the equal of Geelong's and Fraser can win the ruck, perhaps giving us a slight edge over Geelong's strength. If we can win more first use of the ball and deliver it to an imposing forward line, we will win this match. But you will need to pack your heart tablets again. It will be close; very, very close. 'Pies by 3 points in an absolute thriller.
