Good win as expected. No opposition to speak of made us look good. Very impressed with Dids, best game I've seen him play. It wasn't just the number of touches but he was hard at the ball and chased and ran and all the other 1%'ers.
Could tell the guys were switched on today, from the very first tackle layed by Bux just after the first bounce. Moved the ball on quickly most of the time and what a difference it makes. Clement was great, did a couple of silly things but saved far more than he gave away. All round good team performance. Bring on the cats!

Yeah I think we will go well against Geelong! Well theres one mission accomplished towards our slim finals hopes! Michael Christian still reckons we can make it after he hinted to that other dickhead on the 5th Quater show and the other guy said not a hope! What a TOSSER!!!!

Good to get a one in the W column, even if it was only against Hawthorn.
Good performances all round.

Only disappointment in the game (best part was seeing the perennial underachievers (Didak and Davis) show their wares) was one supporter yelling out 'kick it to crimmins...oh wait'.
For those who don't know saying that is similar to changing the name to Darren Millane......
Geez Fraser also came on today, pick up and goal from 50 - pure class. Reckon Jeff White and Luke Darcy would be the only two who could do that, and no-where near as good. Everitt perhaps but not as easy as Josh did it.
Forward line really worked well. Tarrant and either Burns/Buckley next to him is a real gift.
Lockyer - although didnt get the hard ball very smart in knowing when to run off his opponent, which resulted in his goals.
Last question? Would MM ever put Presti in the forward line and take Tarrant off when playing well? Because Hawthorn did that with taking Thompson off and then put Hay (take off Rocca) into the forward line. 3 goals in 4 minutes from Rocca - game over. Nice gift though!!! (obviously would have pumped them anyway)

Great win from the boys. From the opening bounce, they showed that they really wanted to win this one.
A 51 to 30 tackle count was the most encouraging thing for me. The last couple years, we were the kings of tackling, and I finally saw the Collingwood of old where 2 players were tackling one many times.
Another great stat was 40 scoring shots to 20. If we had kicked a bit better, the margin would have been over 100 points.
Great work ethic from Davis. He has received a lot of flak lately, and rightfully so. However he showed the player he can be with some great second and third efforts.
Well here are my rankings for the players:
Grade A: Fraser and Didak.
Grade B: Rocca, Tarrant, Buckley, Clement, Lockyer and Davis.
Grade C: Woewodin, Cole, Burns, O Bree, Rowe, Johnson, Cloke, Lonie, Licuria, Holland and Swan.
Grade D: Wakelin.
Grade E: Mckee and Presti.
This was a really tough one to rank. That is a good sign as it means that most players contributed atleast something to the win.

Mick would be more likely to put someone else there.

It was actually a boring game, 7 minutes in you could see we were going to pump them. The question was by how far. Schwab has no idea as a coach. Nathan Lonie was playing on Bucks and when he was getting the ball he was pushing it forward. Malthouse throws Bucks at full forward and takes Lonie out of the centre. He cannot coach.
My highlight was watching my young friend Julian having his first game.
The score line should have read 30 10, not 20 20.
Next week we will see if we can beat a team in the eight.
It was the most boring game I have attended in 10 years.
How long since we have won 4 1/4's? 2001 I think.

A lot of people have addressed our inaccuracy. I dont think it was a issue of not kicking well. we too often kick to the pockets and rarely have set that dont have a big angle out of front of goal. I think it must be a confidence thing.
BTW it was a interesting move putting c1 on the wing, and good to see didak and davis sharing responsibilities on the ball and the pocket.

Seeing Tarks kick his first goal back was a personal highlight for me. Leon was great along with clement, fraser, didak and holland even though he could have kicked straighter, but generally his disposal was top notch. Rocca's snap at the city end was brillant and Buckley's daicos goal was legendary overall a great team effort. and it was damn fun signing "we're a happy team at hawthorn" to their supporters after the game!

I don't know what Collinwood can do to satisfy some of the supporters. When it's a close game and we win, they say ... it was close, could've gone either way - should've put the game beyond doubt, played crappy footy, doesn't prove anything etc - re. Adelaide.
When it's a close game and we lose they say, should've nailed it .. more precise kicking, not enough inside 50s etc - re. Melbourne, Sydney.
When the opposition thrash us they say ... crap football ... disappointed ... angry. re Saints, Brisbane.
When we thrash the living daylights out of a team - they way it was so boring, didnt' want to watch except for seeing some player getting his first go blah blah ... re. Hawthorn.
WHAT THE HELL DO YOU GUYS WANT THEM TO DO?
