Collingwood to sign at least one of Tim Membrey, Jack Hayes
"Justin Leppitsch is adamant Collingwood has not traded away its future to secure Dan Houston, saying the Pies paid a fair price to secure “the best player in the trade period”. The first-year Magpies list boss said they would decide on Thursday who they would pursue out of St Kilda forwards Tim Membrey and Jack Hayes, but committed to bringing in at least one mature-age key position player."

I know we’re off topic but it needs to be said. If the Dogs walk Bailey Smith to the draft, I will have found a new level of respect for that club ( off a low base though )
It’s just another typical low blow Cats ploy for an out of contract player. You will take unders because we know you’re too scared to risk getting nothing for Smith.

^The Dodoro style of negotiating has done what to Essendon? Yes, that man is largely to blame for the state of that club and its list. My favourite was how they balled up the Hill trade and then said he wasnt a big game player.
But Geelong has taken over as the club who are complete jerks at the trade table. People have long memories. Trading isn't about stooging over the other team. It's about coming to a fair conclusion where everyone gets the best out of the deal. Yes sometimes you have to pay overs, or even get a good deal for unders. But what Geelong expect is just plain ignorance, arrogance, and disrespectful. You want Smith, fine, try to get the best foutcome for your clubm but at least put up a fair trade. I hope the Dogs dont fold to their tactics.
I'll never forget the things they said when Oliver wanted to go there, and how they get in players ears once they've been drafted. Just ask Travis Boak.

If I was Dogs, I'd say that the Cats arent coming to the table, however, many other teams have. So pick another suitor or come back to the kennel. Hey Doggies, we'll give you a pick in the 50's if you just want to slap Geelong in the face.

It's funny because I just went to AFL website to see and it said Barrass trade in limbo... then it refreshed to say deal done.

Kennedy traded to the Dogs for pick 38.

In the end everybody got to where they wanted, always happens.
Human behavioural studies suggest people who use a lot of swear words tend to be more honest & trustworthy.

I know many of you were not interested in Kennedy and especially Stringer. But for 38 and 53... Far out.

No surprises not that I was expecting one.
Had some hope that someone would swoop in with a late second early third for Macrae but didnt happen.

The match day thread is for unfiltered BS knee jerk reactions. The time for level headed comment comes after.

Poor ol' Jake Niall will be freaking out right now. He's scared of a Richmond-like future.Take_a_Screamer wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2024 6:55 pm...

Happy we didn’t take Stringer, he would have had a media target on his forehead with us. We don’t want that drama anymore.
Disappointed we didn’t snag Kennedy, but he clearly wanted to play for the dogs and not us. If they don’t show a desire to play in the black and white, it’s a pass.
