Re: #4 Brayden Maynard
Everyone is tradable and in saying that I consider Maynard as part of club culture and that's very hard to trade away.
Re: #4 Brayden Maynard
So, what would a North Melbourne offer to Maynard be worth compared to what Collingwood could offer? Would it be something like 5 years at market rates versus 4 years at 20% less, maybe?
Would that equate to over $1m extra, in total? I'm sure that he would rather stay with the Pies but at his age he'd be silly not to think about it.

More so, what is in it for us?!
Maynard + F2 for North’s Pick2 + FF.
Who is the Number 2 pick in the draft this year? Is there a Horne Francis in this draft?
What is in next seasons draft?
If the cliff and Tasmania are coming it would be prudent… still it is fanciful.

Some players are non-tradable, because they embody the spirit of the club. Maynard is one of them.

North Melb is footy grave yard, a dead shit povvo team, that should have gone to Qld, and became the North Qld Kangaroos, not the Suns. Why on earth would Bruzza go to that rabble, look at Dyson Hore Francis, could not wait to getut of the dump.

Seems a few posters missed this part of the article. "Nice try but no" is the only appropriate response to something like this, and I'm pleased that was Maynard's answer.Take_a_Screamer wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2024 9:17 pmBut the bid was quickly and politely turned down by Maynard and his management as the Magpies’ star had little interest in leaving clubs.

It’s also one of the oldest ploys in the book. Crap clubs off poor seasons love to leak high profile targets to the media, so their supporters think they’re actually trying to redeem themselves after another horror season. This stuff helps to put a positive spin on the club over the off season. Saints and North do it better than most but that’s only because they are more poorly run than most. A North official simply contacts Maynard’s management for an official response to their enquiry and there’s your story.
Maybe they should approach Horne- Francis …. Oh, wait.

Re: #4 Brayden Maynard
I understand why north would target him if they did
He’s a heart and soul player who lifts those around him
And he’s at that age where his best is still in front of him
For us he’s required especially given the experience gulf we will be losing in the next 12/24 months
Unless North are prepared to part with 1st and 2nd round this year and future 1st next year it couldn’t even be considered for a split second

Re: #4 Brayden Maynard
Don't see the big deal. North asked the question, which is understandable as they're seeking out experienced players to complement their youth.
Maynard and his management declined and that's the end of the matter.

^ well said, 17 other clubs probably asked also about Nick Daicos, no harm in asking.
I agree with others, if North put up a silly deal for Maynard it would be remiss of Collingwood not to ask Maynard about his willingness to move. Clearly Maynard has said no thanks.... end of story.
If Maynard has said yes, we'll then you explore the offer, I would imagine it would be a good one.
I would think that this might be revisit next year depending where Maynard is at.

Not sure if he's still at North, but he has in the past as a player development manager.
