Looks like Longmire has worked out that there’s a reason Collingwood wasn’t stupid enough to play Adams in the midfield last year.

You gotta feel for him tho. Not even named as an emergency. Did the Lions have a dip at him last off-season? Maybe he was better off going there?

Wrapped for Brodie, not much sympathy for Taylor.
Brodie had to go from the pies. His $$$ was a noose and his performance just wasn’t there but never wished him any ill fortune. Spuds at Melbourne treated him like garbage and I’m happy he got out of that sesspit.
Taylor on the other hand had a big sook. Hard to miss out of a flag but he was never ready to play. It was the right call. What’s annoying for me is that he would have made a difference to our season. Might have found the extra 2 pts to get there. I don’t hope he misses out but I just don’t care, his legacy is tarnished for mine.

I wonder how many players have missed out in playing in premierships at two different clubs in successive seasons? Can’t imagine it’d be a long list.

Only player I can think of is Matt Spangher with Sydney (2012) and Hawthorn (2013). He was also on West Coast's list in 2006 as well.

He played in Hawthorn's 2014 premiership team.

Getting back to Adams, he's just turned 31 yesterday, the same day Sydney qualified for the GF. Geez that's an even bigger kick in the guts.

I dont see Horse naming him, but possibly as an emergency. After 23 games last year, and 19 this year, its very tough luck.

He was not an emergency last year. They were Nobel, Harrison, and Fin.

I just feel like he's going to be incredibly frustrated and possibly thinking Sydney is no longer the best place for him. Is there a team that could use him if he asked for another move?

For a brief - but unpleasant - moment, I thought he'd kicked the two goals that put them into the Grand Final. I would have liked the result better if he and not Stanley had hit the post, near the end.

Seriously anyone who watched Sweet completely dismantle Grundy was quite sad to watch and enormously embarrassing for Grundy if he had a shred of integrity in performance
Surely Lanhams couldn’t be any worse in the ruck
Just as a side note of the 43 players who played enough minutes to qualify for champion data points Grundy was the 39th ranked player on the field and Sydney’s 20th ranked player
They would be better off bringing in Mills or Adam’s and asking McLean to ruck and move Heeney forward

Correct. What I believe he got the sooks about was the fitness test was held early in the week whereas he wanted more time to prove his fitness.

He definitely would have played more midfield this year if he had of stayed, particularly with the injury to Mitchell, but that's the sliding doors.

Fly said on AFL 360 last night they did his injury test really in the week because he wanted the players to have clean air and take all the speculation out of it
Adam’s wanted to do his test on Thursday he did it Tuesday morning
Would a couple days made a difference?
We will never know but I get Adam’s point all injury tests are always done later in the week but I also see flys thought process in having clear minds for the players

It would have been an interesting selection call for Collingwood if Adams was available. I think he would have been selected if fit as he was a proven Finals performer and Lipinski hadn't had a great season. He might have been the 23rd substitute and replaced Lipinski if he had been fit.
