^ It's preferable to a Vic club (other than us) winning it.

Preferable to Geebung / Henry that's for sure. I'd rather have an underdog though. I guess I'm supporting Brisbane because Fagen's a good bloke who hasn't won a flag. Grundy will probably win the norm smith against a second string ruckman though, unless the Big O can do him with one arm tied behind his back. I wonder if Fly and our boys can take motivation / inspiration out of Brion's making / winning it? Yeah, dunno...just feeling a bit flat I suppose.

Early Sportsbet odds:

As things stand, this is a good result for us, in relation to sides gaining us on overall premierships.

A rampant Hawthorn outfit smart-arsed their own exit to a putrid Port outfit; that's throwing away a free hit at a premiership.

An over-rated Geebung side gifted a top four spot they fell into, won't be gaining on our 16 flags any time soon now.
Suck it arseholes; their choke warmed my cold cold heart to the core.
Suck it Dangerflog, Suck it Jizza, Suck it Handbag Henry, Suck it Dunderklumpen. Suck it Suck it Suck it!!!

So the reality is either Brisbane lose successive GFs to two different teams, replicating the mighty St.Vomit sides of 2009/2010, or...
Pox Dux lose their 4th GF since their last flag in 2012; adding to 2014/2016/2022. And the AFL criminals won't like that scenario....

Seriously though, Brisbane have done well to get this far with what 4 ACL injuries in 2024 to regular senior players, one being their quarterback in Coleman.

Pre September bye week, I called a Brisbane vs GWS GF; had GWS not choked it up with 5 minutes to go in QF against Pox Dux, things may have turned out different.

Really don't know who to go for. The worst case scenario teams are out, but this is still not a great GF to chose for.

The pro is that one will lose.

I really dislike Horse. His shit comments about booing but then nothing after the booing of Aliir? He is a hypocrite but also a media darling.

Papley is the only player that'll be shit to see win. I'm undecided on Grundy winning in another teams colours, but its also a slap in the face to the Dees. Adams looks unlikely to play.

Seeing them lose a 4th GF would be nice to see.

For the Lions, Im not a fan of Fagan either, based on the positive press he's always had. Always labled as brave, its shitted me for years.

I like Wilmot and Starcevich based on their Collingwood connection, but Cameron, Joe, Zorko, can just pss right off. I hate Lincoln McCarthy and it'll be nice to see him miss out, so thats one thing.

Seeing them lose 2 in a row would be really nice too.

So I'm not sure. I originally thought Swans, but now I'm unsure. At least the Cats are gone tho.

20 years since lions beat geelong in a prelim and lost to port in the GF by 40

might be the same story again with lions losing by 40 to another interstate side in the Swans.

This could be a snore fest going for Brisbane can't stand Horse Longmire. I don't think it will be a sell out

Of the two rather average choices, I think I prefer Brisbane. At least they seem like an honest team that has a go. Sydney look flash and play flash but they are more beatable than some folk realize - particularly away from their ridiculous home ground advantage. Brisbane play the MCG better than the Swans mostly so I expect them to win but it will probably be close I think.

Hard to really care about the game to be honest
I suppose if i had to choose i would go with Brisbane
Firstly because it’s in my home state
Secondly Sydney have been handed advantages for years with there cola academy etc
And lastly because Grundy is the most undeserving player to ever feature in a GF. Seriously his lack of impact in the preliminary was so embarrassingly inept I actually cringed for him watching it
Only upside is we know he will never be inside the 4 walls at Collingwood ever again so that’s a bonus

Brisbane is full of soft bullies who disappear when it’s hard. Hipwood was born with the shape of an L on his forehead, Rayner finally turned up to play a quarter in a Final - expecting that two weeks in a row would be silly - and Neale is about 10% as good as Heeney. On balance, it would be nice to see the least-deserving dual Brownlow Medallist of all-time a dual GF choker.

It would, of course, also be funny to see Thor win the flag, mostly because qldmagpie67’s head would explode.

I will enjoy this game, whatever the outcome. I love watching Finals when our beloved ‘pies can’t lose and Carlton can’t win and this will be no exception.

Heeney for the Norm Smith, I think. After Nick, he’s the best footballer going around, at the moment and, unlike some others, has been even better in his Finals than during the season - that’s what you like to see rewarded: players who rise up when it counts.

Kelly had to sit with me and watch us beat her Lions at the G last year, so hoping they get up for her.
She's pretty stoked with the 33/1 she got in the last quarter v GWS last week. Trying to explain to her that she can't lose if she backs Sydney to win is a struggle :D

Confirmed today that it’s a sell out.
I term the current Collingwood attack based strategy “Unceasing Waves” like on a stormy and windy day with rough seas. A Perfect Storm ☔️

They'd fill a 120,000 stadium for the GF, regardless of who plays these days.
