Hits the target with every disposal for Footscray; I can see why he was deemed not good enough to stay on our list of ball slaughterers...

Alex Fasolo returned to the club recently in order to present Ned Long with his debut Pies jumper.
...he believes the club has become more laid back over the years, particularly under McRae

Kent Butcher played 22 games for Collingwood up to 1995.
Has fractured his spine in 5 places, left paralysed. See stand-alone thread.

He has been playing well since he returned to the Dogs team 4 weeks ago. Did we give up on him too soon?

Well we delisted Poulter ahead of the 2022 AFL draft and signed Steene and Markov in the SSP ahead of the 2023 season.

Poulter had a bad second half of the 2022 season from memory, played some very weird VFL games wide on the wings out of position, many poor groundball contests and disposals and rarely seemed to jump in marking contests. You can take your pick to argue keeping him against Steene or Markov but you could say we delisted Poulter and signed a much needed back up ruck, or we delisted Poulter and signed Markov and won the 2023 flag. There's no doubt Markov performed well above anyone's expectations last in 2023.

Our 2022 draftees aren't bad yet Allen is yet to prove himself but I'm happy with his 80m rolling goal for the moment and Joe Richards is a classy forward pocket with natural ability.

Our end of 2022 trades weren't bad either all of Hill, Frampton, Mitchell and McStay had an impact in 2023, 1 of them was a big difference in the prelim, 3 of them have a premiership medal and 1 of them a Norm Smith.

On balance I'd say letting Poulter go has been a short term win for the Pies.

Liam McMahon booted a lazy 7 goals for the VFL blues. Is he starting to mature now?

Lachie Keeffe got a shout out on Footy Classified Monday for coming in for GWS and beating McInerney. The point was that ruckmen are a dime a dozen, so it's unhinged to sell the farm for a "star" ruckman.

Poulter and Ruscoe should have been retained. No doubt.

One such Collingwood premiership player has a better career-win percentage than Nick Daicos. Name him.

Gotta be Ginnivan, no?

Poulters disposal average at the Bulldogs in 2023 & 2024 is similar to what he had at Collingwood in 2021 (2022 he only played 1 AFL game).
Looks better at present as he is playing in a team that has hit some form.

Ruscoe is playing in the Weagles reserves.
His disposal average is better then when he played AFL for Collingwood but it is a lower level comp.

Both would still only be depth players the the Pies as they do not seem to have improved that much in the last 12 months.

Just had another sinking feeling. Whilst we’re mathematically possible to make the 8 and the hangover ain’t over just yet. It occurred to me that even if the Pies can’t make it to the grand final and defend the premiership, there’s probably a better chance that Jack Ginnivan can.

Jack Ginnivan - Norm Smith medal, paying $201.

He's the type of player to do it...
