3 of the last 4 have been by a goal or less, that must give them nightmares.

Its more satisfying beating them by a goal or less, because the hurt they experience is existential and crippling.

Now 4 of the last 5 have been by a goal or less; I'm done with giving them nightmares - I want them in therapy; where they put me decades ago....

Great win last night, congrats to S.P on 400 great games. Nothing less then a legend.

A moment from last night's game perplexes me, and I feel sums up the 2024 season so far.

Elliott kicks the goal, and we have about 17 odd minutes to go.

Carlton gets the ball out of the middle and goes forward. Howe (i think) takes a mark, and a number of Collingwood players around him are seen waves their hands to say (slow down). Why with 17 minutes to go do the players decide to try and save the game? From that moment on everyone goes back into the collective shell, and we hang on by the skin of our teeth (AGAIN). We played so well for almost all the game...I just shook my head somewhat when the siren went.

That -14 in 2002 stat doesn't feel quite exact; perhaps around 1999?
As we hadn't beaten them since 1994 by that stage.
IIRC, in seasons 2000/2001/2002, we went W1/L1 against them, won both in 2003, dropped both in 2004, then finally started to claw them back from 2005 onwards...

Those five swarthy lads, the Monday Blues, on Utube, will be spewing, again, not happy campers at all now. :P :P :P :P :P

Johnno is right. It was 103-4-117 after our first loss to them in 2002.

In 1999, it was -12 and -13.

I disliked them but that turned to hate in 1979 we lost a GF to them by 4 points
In the Age a day or so had George Harris and Malcom Frazer mocking us
That got my blood to boil
So just keep beating them by what score
I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right
