Whilst we're on page 42, I just want to say that Zai Millane seems to be going ok for the Suns Academy team. Altho not a father-son, or a Pies Academy player, he could end up on the Suns AFL list in the draft.

Wonder if we could sneak him into the 22 this week and nobody would notice, as the spotlight has well and truly moved away from us?!

They’re good numbers, particularly for a bottom ager. That’s the stuff that former #1s were churning out as 16 year olds in the U18s. I’m not saying that’s where he’s destined to be selected but there’s still more growth to come with another year in the system.
He’s a two way mid, reads the play well and makes good decisions with ball in hand. He also shapes as a big part of our draft strategy in this coming off season ( albeit he’s not eligible this year ) He’s only 177cm but at 16, that’s not likely where he will finish and let’s not forget, Rowell is only 180cm and that doesn’t hold him back.

Thomas McGuane looks nothing like his dad, but he seems to have a similar baulk and sidestep. Looks like an evasive type of player. Nice left foot and handball on him too. Looks to work hard and is quick in traffic. I think he looks similar in height and profile to Caleb Serong at the Dockers.

I like Tom McGuane already and can’t wait to get him in

ED is killing em at the doggies, great player, but we cant get em all. I have heard however, Mick MxcGuanes son, Tom, is coming too us, and they say hes equal to a draft pick 2, brilliant prospect. So there you go, all good.

Isn't McGuane is a bottom ager and won't be available until the draft after next? He's small at the moment, hopefully he has more growth in him.
Where did you hear that he was equal to a no.2 pick, as that's different to the reports that have come through the media so far?

Yes, Thomas ( 177cm ) is eligible for the 2025 draft. At 16, hopefully he has growth in him but as I constantly point out, that doesn’t stop Matt Rowell doing what he does every week at 180cm.
It’s a bit silly to be putting draft picks on players who aren’t eligible for another 12 months because so much can change with young boys between 16 and 17 ( either good or bad )
Given what he’s already achieved as a bottom ager, you would at least think he’s on track to be a first rounder next year. The DVI ( draft value index ) will dilute and be to our detriment but we have first hands on him and that’s a big help with any future draft planning.
Apologies, just realised I’ve gone off topic.

I suspect pnc meant that Tom McGuane is predicted to be a 2nd round draft pick. I honestly don't care how short he is as long as he is good. By all reports, he sounds a beauty. However, I don't think he's eligible for the draft until the end of 2025.
