As its part of an unfair dismissal claim, and its already been investigated internally and not found to be true - I'm inclined to give Kelly the beneft of the doubt.

I hate racists. If true, he should resign/be sacked. But. This just doesnt strike me as being accurate.

Investigated by external parties too, including Vic Pol, and dismissed. This is a whole lot of nothing and the timing stinks.

It’s Cleaver’s lawyers making all the noise, even calling for premiership points to be stripped from the club. They’re desperate to make the accusations stick, after internal and external investigations already dismissed the allegations. That tells me there’s nothing to it, or it’s highly exaggerated (eg Maybe Kelly did toss the marngrook and say he didn’t give af what they put in the room — insensitive maybe, but hardly a crime).

I used to work with one of the people involved in the allegations. This doesn’t surprise me at all. I was so angry when Collingwood hired them knowing what I know, and particularly the role they were hired for. This person caused a lot of problems in their prior work place. Ugly toxic bullying stuff. Had multiple people terminated just because they didn’t like them anymore. If they need any witnesses on the character of this person I could come up with at least 10 people. I can tell you that this person would have taken great pleasure in escalating this.

Having said that. I believe the allegation made in reference to this person as i can see how this would rile them up. It fits. As soon a I saw the headline I knew it was them.

The club statement is reassuring. It appears to be very much a disgruntled ex-employee who has an axe to grind.

If the club had any suspicion that Kelly was guilty of any of the allegations against him, I think he would have been stood down pending further inquiries.

It's a shame it will drag through the courts, but the club seems confident it can defend the matter.
