Geez that Rugby 7's is a fast game. Aussies into the quarter finals tonight.
Don't count the days, make the days count.
Re: 2024 Summer Olympics (Paris)
Folks, as you find them, please post dates & times of events you're interested in.
Swimming finals (week 1, as always): seem to be in the 4.30am-5.45am time slot.
Perfect!! You're not doing anything else then, right? (Sleep does not count!)

Re: 2024 Summer Olympics (Paris)
Sitting in Canada and I will say itโs the worst opening ceremony Iโve seen in a long time. Some special moments but alas itโs just crap. No idea what the order of countries is supposed to be. Canada TV full of adverts makes it even worse. Wild Turkey 101 and helybut fish being baked means itโs something to look forward too.
It got better.
It got better.

Re: 2024 Summer Olympics (Paris)
It was a horrible opening ceremony. Mocking Christianity with their grotesque depiction of the last supper of Jesus Christ.
The Parade of Nations on boats reminded me of the 2022 Grand Final parade with Geelong and Sydney when the players and coach were on boats in the Yarra.
The only positive thing about it was Celine Dion's performance at the end.

The Christians will be up in arms over the drag show Last Supper. I just thought it was like a Les Girls show.

James Magnussen teed off in his newspaper column. Seems to like mouthing off!
Says there was a 60%-vegan-friendly quota on food in the athletes' village... So of course they ran out of meat and dairy, 'cos top athletes don't eat vegan.
(Can't argue with him on that one...)

Six Olympians share their training diet secrets
https://www.theage.com.au/lifestyle/hea ... 5jxcc.html
'CJ Allen, 29
US, track and field
Most mornings he drinks a blended coffee, which combines a remarkable list of ingredients: French press coffee, cordyceps fungus, MCT oil, grass-fed butter, grass-fed whole milk or cream, pure vanilla extract, Ceylon cinnamon, collagen peptides, a cacao LMNT electrolyte packet, peppermint essential oil and local raw honey.
He pairs his coffee with a โhigh-protein whole food,โ he said. One day in early July, he chose a bacon, egg and parmesan quiche with butternut squash crust.
Homemade bone broth: Allen makes his own bone broth, which he includes in his afternoon post-training meal. He makes big batches: 4.5 kilograms of marrow bones with 11 other ingredients, including celery stalks and sweet onions.'

Up and about in Canada, and we were watching basketball. Australia is behind, Mills just fouled. Canada looks to have the edge at the moment and just went up by 9. They won in the end Aus plays Greece. Then watched the Women's Rugby 7's and they choked against Canada. Watched McKeown win and that was great. Watching the men's 200 Breast Stroke heats currently.
