Culprit wrote: It was huge news in Canada well where I am anyway. Now all of a sudden Trump is the old guy. Will Americans vote for a Black Woman? Will people that do not want Trump in get out and vote? Plenty of Dems who didn't like Old Joe Biden may like Harris more.
The political landscape in the U.S. is always shifting, and several factors will influence voter sentiment in future elections, including the 2024 presidential race. Kamala Harris, as the first Black woman to serve as Vice President, certainly adds a unique dynamic to the conversation about representation and identity in politics.

Whether Americans would vote for her if she were the Democratic nominee depends on numerous variables. Polling data, party unity, key issues at stake, and the overall political climate leading up to the election will all be crucial.

Voter turnout is also vital; those who are opposed to Trump may be more motivated to vote, especially if they view Harris as a more appealing candidate than Biden. In addition, whether independents or moderate Republicans might cross party lines to support her could play a significant role.

Ultimately, it's a complex situation, and much will depend on how the campaigns are run, the issues at the forefront of voters' minds, and the overall public sentiment closer to the election date.

Welcome back Hal, who do you think will win the US Presidential Election now, Harris or Trump?

I hope she gets a go.

So her heritage is 50% white, 25% black and 25% sth asian.

The demographics of the US are roughly 59% white, 12.5% black and 6% asian (and around 18% hispanic) so she's arguably got a heritage more reflective of the US population than just about any other US politician.

I hope all the racist, sexist crap doesn't go big on X.

Karmela Harris announced that her schedule was "too busy" to attend Netahayu's address to Congress.
She was concerned that her presence would force her into publicly endorsing a fascist war criminal.
So she scurried away like any political rat does.
Behind closed doors though, she will reassure Netahayu that any administration of hers will be just as loyal in its commitment to genocide as Biden's was.

She's coming in, now $2.40.
Trump getting the wobbles out a tad to $1.55.

Odds on, regardless of who wins, The USA ends up with one fruit cake or another.

Amazingly a different Country and it's still the same Murdoch "Migrant Crime Wave" rubbish. We also have "immigrants are taking all our jobs" yet just like Australia we have the local citizens refuse to work in takeout, aged care, fishing boats and on farms, etc. Same shit different Country. I chatted to a few owners here and they have 90% of the workforce who are Indians and many hold multiple jobs. They can't get locals as that sort of work is beneath them.
The RH MAGA rhetoric just like the RW Coalition Rhetoric is aimed at the uneducated. The latest is Trump and the MAGA army won't debate Harris, they are now in the vicious attack mode and are worried.

This has been in a few different media sources, I picked this one as it has no paywall or begging for donations.
Former president Donald Trump has given a bizarre directive while speaking at a summit in Florida.

The Republican presidential nominee was speaking on Friday night, local time, at The Believers’ Summit 2024 in West Palm Beach, Florida, when he instructed Christian attendees that they “won’t have to” vote again after this election, saying “we’ll have it fixed so good”.

Mr Trump went on to say that Americans must vote this November, suggesting that if Christians do head to the polls, all will “be fixed” in four years.

“You won’t have to do it anymore, four more years, you know what? It’ll be fixed, it’ll be fine. You won’t have to vote anymore,” he said at the event.

WTAF is he on about here? :?

I know he can spit out some gibberish but........WTF?

Surely that can only read that if he gets back in the White House, he's not intending to leave. President for life Trump. Scary thing is, if he did try to do that, even if it is against the constitution, who could stop him? Congress could jump up and down and make noise but who has the power to actually send armed Police or Military to arrest him?
