There's no rush. It looks like they have until 2027 to work that out.

No, it's not. But he is a neo-fascist, which is what I called him.
Still wrong.

I don't like Cancel Culture, period. People are human, they make mistakes and sometimes say dumb shit. Then sanctimonious arseclowns pile in on social media.

Save the angst for people and/or events that actually deserve it.
me either! I hate the name too, and i hate the use of the word Karen!

do they think up this shit because actual sentences are too hard for a generation that can't write in cursive!

social media is the devil!

oh, and I'll take Michelle Obama please!!

Mate, I don’t know what Wikipedia has to do with it.
I know what fascists are.
I know what neo means.
You made an inane comment. Some people do that when Trump is involved. I think that there’s a name for that syndrome. What was it, I can’t quite remember? Perhaps I will search for it on Wikipedia.
Anyway, I’ve reached my boredom threshold on this and will move on.

Travelling around Canada and people pick up your accent I get asked. “what do you think about trump?” I simply answer? “I’m no fan” and add “If those two are the best choices Americans can come up with, the USA is screwed”. No one has said to me they like Trump. The Dems undermining Biden are doing Maga’s work for them.

^How's the trip going? Post some pics and a quick update on the place if you get a moment.

No one vaguely sensible or serious, without being majorly dissociative, mistaking culture wars for actual war, or playing contrarian because they're addicted to attention as narcissists, would consider Trump for that role in a pink fit. No one. The position is miles too consequential to play silly buggers with for mere entertainment or amusing speculation.

Now, if you were casting a reality TV show, the bloke is obvious gold, err, bronze. But the leadership of a major nation and superpower whose state-of-affairs have a major impact on the entire planet? It's hard to imagine anyone for that role, of course, but it's reflexive to know it's not someone like that. It's not even a difficult concept, unless, as I say, you're off on some kind of mental bender for whatever reason or being an ass in jest.

The trip is going great, Vancouver, Toronto, and Nova Scotia. I drove all of Prince Edward Island. Ferry over and drove the 12.9 km Federation Bridge on the way back. Now in Greenwood NS, head to Cape Breton for a few days. I have driven around 2000kms and seen 1 police car. There are no Speed Cameras here. Driving on the other side of the road started weird but I am now used to it. Went to a lobster cook-off last night along with bacon-wrapped scallops and plenty of salads. Luckily all my shorts are elastic waste. Paying $15 CA for a Lobster is great, it's a staple here and a luxury for us at home. I have met a few people and had lots of drinks, a few wives have said that their husbands are not allowed to play with me. Well, I don't force them to drink nor ask them to keep up with me. Some nice beers 8.5% do go down well. I think I have tried about 50 different beers. I went in a shop to buy some beer and a middle-aged woman helped me, she said how about a "Dirty Blonde"? I responded, "I do love a dirty blonde". She laughed out loud (She's Blonde). Then she said how about a Natural Blonde and quipped, "Not too many of those these days'. My Canadian friend said I was just a flirt and that the women love the accent. Plenty of pics to sort through, will post when I can.

^Haha awesome! The Aussie accent has its currency, that's for sure! My wife reckons my accent goes more British or more Aussie depending on the circumstances. If I were single and heading to a pub or bar, it would be a broad Aussie accent all the way.

Canadians defo love Oz, and know Aussie music and film better than most countries, too.

Sounds brilliant. And seafood and craft beer...paradise!

I was wondering about wrong-side driving myself, being tempted to ferry the car over to Europe for spin.

I had an American couple approach me hearing the accent. They introduced themselves as environmentalists and they love an Aussie band. I responded with, "That would be Midnight Oil". I was on the money and we got chatting and they freaked out how much I knew about Midnight Oil. I then explained that when I was young my band opened for the unknown Midnight Oil at Bombay Rock (yes I am old). They couldn't get enough and didn't have to buy a drink for the rest of the day. They have my details and they are heading down under in Feb, we will catch up.

I have to admit, when I saw that Biden made his announcement over Social Media, I wondered who posted it for him and whether they didn't tell him he had pulled out until after they did it.
