An absolute must-win game if we harbour any pretensions of playing in the finals this year.
Last year's huge win up there was an ernomous morale booster and we need a similar effort from the whole team.
I'm interested to hear any sensible thoughts on likely ins and outs and a match strategy.
Anybody know a reliable long-range weather forecaster?!

I think if Rocca plays we are a really good chance to win this one. We proved we could beat them last year in Sydney, and if Rocca provides a target up forward with the absence of Taz, we can win. If we want to play finals this year it is a must win! We must be desperate.
I also think Davis, O'Loughlin, Ball, Leo Barry, Schauble and Schneider are all out injured, although we will need to wait and see how they recover over the 10 day break.

So jus like always they bring in the big guns the week they play the pies eg Lynch Brown Power

Maybe. However, we should regain Rocca, as Millane42 says, which will be a huge plus for us. Rocca + Cam in the forward line plus Bucks, as I've suggested elsewhere, and our forward line looks a lot more threatening.
Richards ought to be able handle Doyle, if fit, or kill them in the ruck, if not. Brogan and Lade had a field day last weekend, racking up 50 hitouts after Doyle was a late withdrawal. The Swans are light on for ruckmen, so that opens an opportunity for us to ruck Richards for the most part, and Fraser in cameos to give Guy a rest, whilst allowing us to put Fraser at FF for the most part as well.
The Port/Swans match report said Port killed them in the midfield, so we'll need to shut down their runners - jobs for Licca and Dutch - whilst our guys need to feed off Richards. I think this is one of those games which we need to open up and run the ball quickly and feed it into our forward line with no mucking about, therefore, I'm inclined to think Fraser will spend a lot of the day at FF, and if he can't hold the mark, must ensure the ball goes to Dids and Leon. Big game also needed from one, or both, of these guys.
Hall is the obvious danger up forward for the Swans, so see Presti playing there and he'll need to move the ball away from Hall to Clement or Cole, so we sweep it out of the backline as quickly as we can. The backline has played well for the most part but has been put under severe pressure when our intensity falls away further upfield late in the game.
There's a strong need for fresh legs into midfield in the 4th Q, so maybe we need to stack up on blokes like Shaw, maybe even Shacks or Rowe in their 1st game, who have pace and can take on that attacking midfield role, on the bench to be thrown into it then.
Still, in the final analysis, this is simply our 2004 GF, three months early.

With our percentage, and the way other teams are going, we will need 12 wins to make the finals. That means 8 more wins from 10 games. That will be tough when we have Essendon, Port, Brisbane, Geelong, Freeo at Subi in that 10. Doable though.
If we lose to Swannies, we would then have to win 8 of 9. That would be almost impossible.
So this in reality is a must win game ... our season is on the line. If you can afford it, get up to Sydney to cheer the boys and abuse the Swans.
