You do look at blokes like Mourinho and wonder a little whether you could do about as well as them at the gig if you were given the same players and cash to buy more that he gets.

"Prosecutors in Spain have called for Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti to be jailed for four years and nine months for allegedly avoiding one million euros (Β£854,000) in tax.
...

Ancelotti is one of football's most successful managers having had spells at the likes of Juventus, Chelsea, AC Milan, Bayern Munich and Everton during his career.

He is the only man to have won league titles in England, Spain, Italy, Germany and France, and to have won the Champions League four times.

Spain has cracked down on a number of sports stars and celebrities in recent years for alleged tax avoidance.

In 2017 Argentina striker Lionel Messi was handed a 21-month jail sentence, later reduced to a fine, after being found guilty of defrauding Spain of 4.1m euros (Β£3.5m) during his time at Barcelona.

In 2019, Portugal striker Cristiano Ronaldo accepted an €18.8m (Β£16.6m) fine for tax evasion charges while he was a Real Madrid player.

The deal included a 23-month jail sentence but in Spain, convicts do not usually do time for sentences under two years.

Later that year former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho was fined for a similar offence during his time in charge of Madrid."

Liverpool job 'difficult to ignore' - Slot

https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/arti ... rryd0xkxzo

'The Reds agreed a compensation deal worth Β£9.4m with Feyenoord in April after the 45-year-old was identified as the man to succeed Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.
...

Slot's three-year contract at Liverpool will officially start on 1 June, subject to a work permit.
...

Dutchman Slot led Feyenoord to the 2022-23 Eredivisie title, while this season they have won the Dutch Cup and finished second in the league.
...

t is believed that the attacking style of Slot's teams, his personality and his ability to develop players were key factors in making him Liverpool's top choice for the job.
...

He has also been given the title of head coach rather than manager in a move that the Anfield club believe reflects the modern game and works better from a structural perspective.'
