VFL Round 5

Post by Dark Beanie »

Pies vs Bombers (home)

Saturday 27 April @ 2.05pm. Venue Vic Park
Double header with the VFLW at 11.00am

Match centre:

https://www.afl.com.au/vfl/matches/6344

Livetream via VFL website & AFL app.

Ladder: Pies 10th (2 wins, 2 losses, 103.6%) Bombers 20th (0 wins, 4 losses, 71.6%)

After a disapointing game last week, the Pies front up against another lower ranked team. As we saw last week, a win is not a given and will depend on the team named on the day. And a better effort in the midfield.

De Mattea, Ryan, McInnes, Sullivan- come on down...

Johnson, Dean, Begg, Richards, Markov- what can you show the selectors???

Parker, Allen, Bytel, Jath--- are you AFL standard??

Loads to show today- we must be looking out for pace and skill to inject into the AFL team.... who will step forward because I sense a mood for change...
Firm in the belief that number 17 flag is only months away...

Excited for Demattia, go well son!
Looking forward to another look at Wil Parker. Looked good last week.
AJ banished to the back pocket. Would like to see him play there and stay there in the back half for a while to find out what he can do down there. Who knows maybe this move will help him yet.
Ed Allen kicked our last goal of the year at the 58minute mark of the last quarter

Audition day for the the following players
A. Johnson,C. Dean,O. Markov J.Bytel, F. Macrae, E. Allan A.Begg,
H. Demattia, R. McInnes, L. Sullivan

All of them have a chance to show of there deserve a run the seniors next week.
Sullivan McRae Allan are most likely to be considered (along with Harrison who I think did enough to warrant staying in the squad next week)
Demattia will need a few weeks to find his fitness levels before he can even be considered but he seems to have the body shape and maturity during the pre season
Good luck boy all play well and put pressure on spots in AFL side

I will give some updates during the match to Nick's VFL page

Will appreciate the updates, thanks.
I term the current Collingwood attack based strategy “Unceasing Waves” like on a stormy and windy day with rough seas. A Perfect Storm ☔️

Seems Ash has had 4 kicks in the first 10mins. Pretty much already reached his contribution to every other match this season. This could be his turning point

3-4 to 2-5 our way.
Better than last week.
Too many turnovers with kicking including a poor kick to a man 20m away by AJ that resulted in a goal by the Dons.
AJ left his man an got a good intercepted mark.

Turnover kings at the moment.
Dons by 7 pts at the 10 min mark of 2nd quarter.
Make that 8 pts

Turnovers and skill errors are killing us.
