Looks like Albo has proposed changes to the stage 3 tax cuts.
I'm in 2 minds about it. I don't mind the changes, certainly benefits the lower and middle earners more but doesn't really do much about bracket creep.
Personally I'd like to see the Tax Free Threshold indexed, have the 37% bracket start higher and get rid of the 45% one completely. The concept of the Government taking 45c from every $ you earn is just fundamentally wrong, even if they can afford it, it's wrong in principle.

I think it's a fair change. Kelly picks up almost what I lose from the original proposal.stui magpie wrote:Looks like Albo has proposed changes to the stage 3 tax cuts.

Any extra $ is a bonus in my books.

Dutton thinks he is on a winner saying it's a broken promise as more people receive a tax cut. I still get a cut it's just less. I hope Dutton and the NOaltion oppose the tax cuts.
On another note:2021-2022 Financial year, I could claim a lot of things, especially WFH.
2022-2023 Financial year it was a flat rate per hour working from and keeping records of which days I am WFH.
