NZ 28-24 Ireland.
"New Zealand withstood three comebacks from top ranked Ireland and two yellow cards to win a gripping Rugby World Cup quarter-final 28-24 and stay on course for a record fourth title."
"Ireland's 17 game winning streak is over ...
Neither team deserved to lose a game befitting of a final but the world No.1's are gone."

A teeny $5 returns $2500. A grand off the mortgage, $500 into Kels holiday account, a bit of play money for the weekend and a big one at the casino coming up on Sunday afternoon.

Way back, I was BIG into betting on the gee gees. Also dogs & Trots.
I tried quite a few but unsuccessful 'systems'. I found a book on betting. The very first paragraph was, "95% of punters must lose for racing's credo - 'The Sport of Kings', to remain."
From another book, "The vast majority of punters are long-term losers. Most estimates put it at about 97%."
But still, many punters reckon they win. Even when they don't. Some win (frinstance) $500 early in the day, then spend subsequent hours, giving it back, till their last bet (before the Missus drags them out of to Pub) wins at good odds. He's elated, thinking he's won, over all. But he's actually lost some $200.
If there were signs at the TABs and Pub TABs, stating something like, "Over 90% of you will lose." Do you reckon anyone would turn around and walk out ? No. They/we all want to be in the 10%.
* Well done, Skids, on recent successes.

Can't argue with those stats. But most of those are clueless people throwing money at something they know little about and getting hooked on it.
I know that since I stopped drinking, I bet a lot more prudently.
My big thing over the years of punting has been, yep, Good old lady luck, she has smiled on me countless times. Am I in front over the years... I would confidently say yes, not a fortune, but definitely in front. I've never bet (since I stopped drinking) with more than my budget.
The monthly statements that betting agencies must now send customers would be an eye opener for many I reckon. A mate of mine had his mortgage application denied because of the amount they could see him depositing to betting agencies.
Having said that, I'm down a few bucks for June.
Will lady luck smile on me like she usually does around my birthday and see me back in the black for July?.. I bet she does
