With Australia leading gthe series 2-0, the top 4 run-scorers are all Australians:

Marsh 290
Warner 208
Special K 173
SPD BradSmith 152.

Which is just as well, since Marnus and Head have just 85 and 71, respectively, so far. In fact, Carey is fifth for Australia, with 91 (8th overall).

Cummins leads all with 13 wickets. Jamal is second with 12, followed by Starc and Lyon - 9 each. Cummins is, as usual, taking his wickets at a ridiculous rate - his series average is 11 runs per wicket.

Went to the MCG today.

Good day of cricket with a little bit of everything for the crowd to enjoy.

Pakistan were competitive throughout the test, but just lacked the ruthless edge required to win it.

The dropped catch of Marsh when he was on 20 was a costly moment.

For 4 days was one of the better mcg tests in a while.

Kind of good to see 4 innings played and a good balance between runs scored and wickets taken.

Was a good mix of wickets tumbling and good batting partnerships.

All in all a good test.

Was hoping of more of an attendance.

best tho was a good test and a low attendance meant i could have the pick of the seats.

They also lacked luck. A lotta marginal ump decisions went against them.

But all the dropped catches were their own fault.

Mr. NickIt has 1200+ runs for the year. Shows how flat the pitches are.
...
And Mr NickIt nicked off again in the 2nd innings!! :!:

And Warner was bowled (playing on) yet again!! :!:

And FTB Smith was LBW yet again in the 2nd innings... but saved by the "umpire's call" rule that favours batsmen. (Shows how stupid he is to have hissy fits about DRS.)

They're getting out the same way over and over and over again.

That's true. But great players do get out occasionally, even whe, like Special K and SPD BradSmith, they are the number 1 and number 2 Test run-getters in the World this year.

All players have weaknesses - the challenge for the bowlers is to see whether they can keep those two under 2,000 runs a year. In 2023, the answer was, of course, a resounding "No."
