Bear needs to play full game, missed his pressure acts and we got better once he was subbed into the game in the 4th !
Most of my favourite bands start with "M" - Mars Volta, Mastodon, Megadeth, Metallica, Midnight Oil, Misfits...except King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard ~

Agree 100%. I think Beau McCreery is a really good attacking option that adds strength and speed to our forward line. I can only assume he was used as a sub because of concerns for his fitness coming off a sore ankle?

Absolutely correct. I shake head at some of the comments. It would have been highly irresponsible to have picked him for the full game. He was the perfect selection for the role he played today. Hats off to Craig McRae.
I term the current Collingwood attack based strategy “Unceasing Waves” like on a stormy and windy day with rough seas. A Perfect Storm ☔️

“I think this guy is untapped talent,” King said of McCreery on Fox Footy’s First Crack.

The ‘untapped talent’ at Collingwood who can become an AFL ‘top-liner’… but only once ‘he firmly believes it’

Pies’ unsung hero opens up on meeting and mindset change

Worth a read of the article link -

The black and white army is often dubbed an extra player in Collingwood home games, but it’s true for Beau McCreery more than most.

^ Time to get Beau's mum to do another pre-match rev up.

Seemed to work against the Giants earlier in the year.

Another almost-game for Beau; he almost ripped it apart early.
Those critical missed shots on goal soured his contribution, and that sprayed kick in third term which missed target of Hill, was also telling.
I was most displeased at the time; he got a mouthful from me.
His field kicking to position was good though during the match.

Overall, I thought his 2023 season was somewhat less effective that his 2022 output, and perhaps even the 2021 debut.
His potential upside is enormous though; he must continue to improve.

Absolutely, he was worked up and missed the handshake and the media carries on like he's a fkn serial killer.

From the article above, this is the bit I like.
“Like we said about the midfield stuff, I can’t remember if it was matchplay stuff in the pre-season, we whacked him in there and he just went bananas,” Hoskin-Elliott recalled.

“It’s like, ‘Yep, he’s got it’. Give him another one or two years, get his tank going, he can play any position.”
There's our next big bodied contested midfield beast right there, along with serious speed off the mark.

Imagine Beau at the centre bounce with Naicos and Jordy. Centre clearances solvered boss.
Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down.

Fly’s belief matters most to McCreery
Beau McCreery might be one of the least experienced players on Craig McRae’s team, but he’s one of the first picked every week.

Beau McCreery’s 2023 stats:

* Played the most games of his career in a season
* Kicked the most goals of his career in a season
* Ranks elite in tackles
* Ranked #5 at Collingwood in tackles

With a bit more composure and luck Beau could have had 3 or even 5 goals to half time. Moving forward he needs to take his chances.

I agree that he is in the group of automatics each week.

I'd love to see him get super fit and become a midfield beast.
