^ but out of interest, how many of those players were still under contract? Bet that shortens the list considerably!

Going back to Franklin's move in 2013, all of them were out of contract players except for Ginnivan.

Before that, details of contracts are scarce.

So in an odd way Piesnchess could be right. Ginnivan could be the first contracted player to leave a premiership team.

Well, no - Franklin beat him to it. What he just may be is the first premiership player emptied out so promptly and unceremoniously by his club?

This sounds about right. It takes two to tango and I suspect that the club played a leading role in the process. Wrighty went from “required player” to sealing a deal extremely quickly for a reason that obviously didn’t concur with the former comment. It was incredibly weird IMO.
I term the current Collingwood attack based strategy “Unceasing Waves” like on a stormy and windy day with rough seas. A Perfect Storm ☔️
