The 2 state solution is dead and buried.
Do you think that after carrying out its own holocaust against the Palestinain people, backed to the hilt by "Genocide Joe", that the Israeli government and its backers in Washington are going to fall back to a scenario of "two states" ?
The "two state solution" was always a horrific trap and bankrupt mirage, agreed to in an act of abject capitulation by the PLO, and then held out by imperialism as some kind of "hope" for the Palestinian people.
But if nothing else, the current genocide in Gaza has clarified to all those who are paying attention: the two state solution is superseded by a program of genocide and ethnic cleansing, carried out by the Netahanyu government and backed by the US/NATO axis.
Netahanyu, and Genocide Joe, have already made clear their plans:
expel whoever in Gaza survives the genocide to the Sinai Desert (preference 1) or to the Negev desert in Israel (preference 2).

stui magpie wrote:@Magpietothemax sorry but that is unmitigated spin and rubbish.

The treaty of Versailles absolutely sodomised Germany. Post WWI when inflation was rampant and people were struggling, Antisemtism was taking place well before Hitler got any traction due to pure resentment.
Yes, anti-Semitism was circulating,...as I mentioned in a previous post, it was fomented by the ruling class during the latter part of the 19th century as a means to divide the working class and to mobilise backward middle class layers.
Indeed, the Versailles Treaty sodomised Germany, and inflation ran rampant etc. That is why in 1923 socialist revolution could well have occurred in Germany, had the leaders of the Communist Party in Germany been guided correctly. The reasons why they were not is another story, and to find the reasons why you would have to imbue yourself in the history of the Left Opposition, which opposed the Stalinist degeneration of the Bolshevik Party.[/quote]

stui magpie wrote:The uneducated working classes had nothing to offer but their Labour and they saw (or were fed propaganda) that the Jews were living large as the arch capitalists. While the grunts worked in factories, Jews (some, not all clearly) made their money do the work, buying factories, lending money. The fire was already burning, Hitler threw petrol on it to serve his own ends.
I am sorry, but that is a totally false understanding of the working class in Germany. There was a massive socialist working class movement in Germany, from the middle of the nineteenth century and onwards, the SPD. It educated the working class politically on socialism, and created a gigantic network of cultural and intellectual institutions within the German working class. In 1914, the SPD leadership capitulated to nationalism in a historic betrayal, and agreed to war credits. In other words, it abandoned its previous opposition to imperialist war. It then collaborated with the German ruling class, allowing it to assassinate Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebnecht in 1918/19. However, the political and cultural education of the working class was not annihilated, and was carried on by the KPD. In 1923, a revolutionary opportunity again occurred. The working class was ready to respond, but its leaders faltered, and the capitalist government was able to regain control. To portray the German working class as "grunts working in factories" who resented "money making Jews" is a gross historical lie. Jewish people occupied positions of leadership in the labour movement precisely becaue it was the labour movement that opposed anti-Semitism.
stui magpie wrote:No one has ever persecuted the Jews for being the workers advocate. Trying to make that argument is revisionist bullshit and maybe you should learn what that word means as it has more meanings than just associations with Marxism.
That is just nonsense. Hitler persecuted the Jews, on the basis of "Judeo-bolshevism" - the drive to eliminate forever the Russian Revolution and all that it stood for was amalgamated with the drive to destroy European Jewry. The evidence? Hitler said so himself.

Could not agree more. The visions of 3/4 ofthe population walking down the highway, a woman walking 5 miles dragging her kids in car seats, this is just inhuman. Starting to wonder if the initial attack was actually organised by Israel as an excuse.

Where the **** is the UN?

Why do you think the UN has any power to intervene? This is a Security Council matter and the Council can only act, in substance, unanimously. That's just not going to happen while permanent members - China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom and the United States (any of whom can veto any action) - back sides.

It might be simplistic to say "America", but Israel really is pretty dependent on their support, and they could change the game in an instant if they started withholding weapons and financial support and demanded a ceasefire (and that's even before we get to sanctions, which is what they should actually be doing).

https://www.themirror.com/news/us-news/ ... rch-186878
President Biden has said there is "no possibility" of [a ceasefire] being brokered. National Security Council spokesman John Kirby added that the administration "doesn't believe a cease-fire is appropriate at this time", saying its view was that it would give Hamas an opportunity to regroup and "legitimize what they did on October 7."
As long as that remains the official position of Israel's biggest ally and sponsor, they have a green light to proceed. It seems as simple as that, unfortunately.

Thousands of children die every day for the lack of 2 cents worth of sugared water. Countries, corporations, individuals, anyone could change it right now for not a lot of money. Children.

Palestinian Supporters protesting at Port Melbourne Wharf just around the Corner from Elbit Systems (Israel Military Company) is quite ironic.

Riding a bike wrapped in an Israel flag into a Palestinian Supporter group qualifies for the Darwin Awards.

Believing Israel would listen to what Australia says is a new level of Ignorance.

It still amazes me how many anti-semites on this forum barely raise an ounce of sympathy for the murders in cold blood of Israeli men, woman and children by those Hamas medieval barbarians who broke the truce on October 7th.

Too many on here with their small token of sympathy for the murdered Jewish people which is always followed by “yeah but….”

In war the losers are always the innocent people. The IDF at least gave the people of Gaza warning of what was to come….the October 7th victims never received that!!
