Saw on the news tonight that Trump is now favourite to regain the Presidency as the majority of voters, including a majority of Democrats, think Biden is too old.

Let's be frank, Joe is clearly struggling now. If he's re-elected in 12 months time, what shape will he be in in 3-4 years time?

Time for the Democrats to bite the bullet methinks and have a convo with Joe about standing aside for another candidate. Someone hopefully under 60.

If the Democrats allow Joe to run, they could just gift the White House to Trump which on all evidence would not be great for anyone.

There’s also the small question(which hardly anyone seems to be addressing right now,strangely enough) of Trump being convicted and jailed for the many crimes he’s been indicted for.Would Americans be stuipid enough and self destructive enough to vote for a jailbird to become President?Possibly.Who knows?They are a strange bunch over there.

Maybe not "Americans" as a whole, but the 25% or so who are Christian conservatives and/or right-wing conspiracy theorists? Sure. All they need in order to win is for about 50% of the voting population to stay home as they don't like either candidate, and then win through the electoral college. It's depressing, but unfortunately there's little reason to think it can't happen.

Wouldn't even need to be that many stay away. Biden could still easily get the most votes ( California will make sure of that) but lose to Trump in the Electoral College. I read somewhere he only needs to flip 6 and polls are showing 5 of those currently red.

Of course, if he gets convicted he's eligible to run, but what happens if the cases drag on til after the election? Do they have to drop the cases if/once he's elected POTUS? If they continue, and a sitting President is convicted, does he get removed from office?
