On an otherwise dull afternoon for the Seagulls against North Ballarat, there was one shining light to emerge, the return of Rupert Betheras to Burbank Oval.
Betheras, a premiership player with Williamstown in 2003, was signed by the club late last week and played in the reserves to regain touch and match practice.
Following his delisting from Collingwood, Betheras ventured to the Northern Territory and played in his second premiership in the space of six months, this time with legendary football club St. Marys.
Betheras was a well liked figure around the club last season and his experience, skill, presence and camaraderie will be very important acquisitions for the Seagulls.

ROOP: Rupert Betheras has received a job offer from Queensland and is tossing up whether to continue his proposed comeback with Williamstown. He was in discussions with club officials on Monday and a verdict will be known by next week.
