Great to see he can go through the midfield with good endurance, bit of a surprise when I read that.

At first I thought we paid overs, now I think its about right.

I still feel we are in need of another classy midfielder, could we snag one with our first rounder ??

We have one already, just in need of another preseason or two.

The Age headline this morning was "Pies, Schultz stalemate":

'The Dockers have told the Pies the pick they want on top of the future first, with Collingwood spending the weekend considering whether to accept the deal or walk away.'

So a close call??
Yeah walk away, like half of their list does...
Don't try to ransom us Bell.
How many players have jumped ship from the SS FREO over the past 3-4 years or so?
Neale, Hogan, Cerra, Lobb, Tucker, Logue, and now Schultz and Henry?
Sure you've secured back a few homesick players in their place, but WHY have all those departed players decided to leave though?
Plus we gave you the most serviceable dude Aish for nothing.

And we are coming for Brayshaw too, once he hits UFA status.
We'll also be taking Brodie off your hands late 2024 if you want to keep him rotting away in the WAFL...

If I were Freo, i'd forget about delusions of premiership glory, or any such Pie in the Sky nonsense, and go back to doing what they do best: being a reliable and negotiable feeder club for Collingwood.... :P

Welcome to Lachie Schulz!!
Just watched his highlights... he is definitely a player!! One feels that, operating with Bobby, Ginni and Jamie (not necessarily all at once, but combinations of this) our forward line will become a nightmare for any opposition defence.
Love the way Graeme Wright also made clear that Ginni is part of our future plans- the recruitment of Schulz does not change that.
Go Pies!!
Free Julian Assange!!

Higher disposals for Adams but that's expected given he spends time in centre. Schulz has signicantly never forsake power game average even with the Dockers midfield

According to Freo supporters, Schultz's existing nickname is Shooter or Shoota.

$$$ wise, if Adams contract was indeed back-ended to the suggested $800k, we've also won out on cap space relief, for season 2024 at least.
Begs the question, what might shooter be coming in on $ wise and is it a 3 year deal?

ps' at 90 games we get him before any F/S triggers down the track :

Seen speculation it may be $700K+PA.

4 years with triggers for a 5th.

Shoota in season 2023 kicked 33 goals for the season

Meanwhile a little guy called Bobby Hill was doing just that at Collingwood

Oooh I like the maths of that people

I think Schultz will be a very good pick up for us and he seems to be at the peak of his powers. I know Freo haven't been much chop but 5th and 6th in the last 2 b&fs, for a small forward, is some achievement. His stats track as elite or above average in all the critical areas so I'm more than a little excited to have him on board. Welcome Lachie!

I mean, at this point, how can you doubt anything Graham Wright does? I think it's an outstanding pickup and fair compensation to Freo, who would love to have kept him. It's not like the future draft pick we gave up is going to be some coveted top 5 pick - more like in the 15-18 range, which can be a crapshoot anyway.

Look at this year's draft for example. They are saying it's top-heavy and there's a drop-off past the top ten, so you're really just talking about finding a diamond in the rough if you're picking late (not that we can't find one - we've obviously got some top-notch talent evaluators). Bottom line is that the rich just got richer in my view. Sad that Taylor is gone, but the truth is he wasn't going to be in our best 23 moving forward, and now he gets to be in another good environment with a quality club, so fair play to him.
I, for one, welcome our new black and white overlords
