The temperature is rising...As the clock ticks silently towards 2:30 pm I can feel the fever of excitement, elation, terror all rolled into one, rising in my veins. This team has given us all joy for the last 2 years, and this year has been magic. I was wanting to do some analysis of our possible defensive match up options but no matter how hard I tried I just couldn't find the words.

Strange for me.

In reality it's Grand Final day, what can be said in the lead up to this game has already been stated by one person or another so now we just sit back and watch our coach and players execute the plan.

I believe that the best version of ourselves, of our game style, has been designed around playing on a fine September afternoon. It was built to deliver a Premiership on a day like today.

We will win.

After Round 1 I tipped us to win the flag. I can't go changing now but I have to say the closer we get to the game starting the more nervous I'm feeling. We've lost the last six times we've played Brisbane, they hold the head-to-head record over us (P:38 W:15 D:0 L:23) and beat us in the 2002 & 2003 Grand Finals. If ever there was a time to get some revenge this is it. If we are to win it wouldn't be Collingwood without giving us a scare... I'm tipping the Pies by 4 points and Nick Daicos to win the Norm Smith medal. Bring on our sweet sixteen!

The wind has not only lowered the apparent temperature to a more pleasant 23 degrees currently, it's probably going to be a bigger factor than the sun.

I feel it aids our game style more but accuracy in front of goal and taking your opportunities will never be more important.
