literally EVERY year the sides rested going into the Prelim get no media love. The only reason people are so confident of the Lions is the venue.

we could be playing North Melbourne and still be told to watch out.. lol
Who have GWS beat that are good?

look at the last month.... Port where cooked, even we beat port at their best in Adelaide
St Kilda over achieved in 2023 and was no real threat + played at the G
Carlton at Marvel in a Home and Away season game that meant nothing to them
Essendon..... enough said

the scary part is we havent used our Trump cards like switching Billy into the midfield for some spark as needed or JDG out of the goal Square

This could get messy for GWS.. no Jeremy Cameron to kick BS goals like in 2019.. and a half cooked ruckman

Granted, he hasn’t played in 7 weeks, but for all we know it could be the freshen up his young battered body needed. Wouldn’t be surprised if he turns it on, and quickly.

Why are we complaining about this??? THE LAST Thing we want or need is the media banging on about how Collingwood will walk all over the top of them. 2019 anyone??? Hubaris is not needed...GWS are no easy beats...let the media talk about how this is GWS preliminary to lose and we are the underdogs!!!..that should be our teams mantra tonight
Not complaining at all. I love it. It’s just f**king bizarre.

Good. No commentary. No expectations - and he can go ahead and play his own game and rip them up.

If we get through and by some miracle the slime edge past the lions I will be totally rabid.

Was at the G when Tudds cleaned up Macca when he was tearing them several new rrrsols.

Was there again when Harmes slapped it on from row 3 in the outer.

I DESPISE the slime and to beat them in the big dance will be good for my soul.

Last time against the Giants Nick got 41, Titch 36 and JDG 31. Dare I say if they get similar numbers tonight we will win by 10 goals again.

Not really worried about Nick not playing for 7 weeks. He had 35 touches in Rnd 1 and has already played in big finals and won’t really have those little niggles everybody else has at this time of year.

We can sure that Jaicos will be inspired by the return of his bro for this game. I am looking forward to see them both together tonight - it will be electrifying.

So nervous now, hard to concentrate on work. I just feel if we bring consistent pressure we will win this. Prelims are hard to win and we need to stay focused. Cant wait for kick off.

In preparation for tonight, I had a piece of brisket wrapped in glad wrap overnight to get Laurie's special Preliminary Final dry rub flavour through the meat.
It went under the Webber 2 hours ago. It'll be as good as prime Swanny 30 minutes before the bounce, ready to carve up.

I enjoy a good wine and a real beer, and this is one of those occasions you get the good stuff out.
I'm having to host two Carlton supporters who have flown up from Melbourne for it though! I'm taking this Carlton fear head on.
I've got one of my Pie mates coming over to balance it out in case it gets ugly, and they turn on us. This is how they behave, it's in their DNA, so things could get willing later on...

I'll be sporting my commemorative 100-year 2015 ANZAC day guernsey with no.5 on the back, as I'm backing Jamie to light it up tonight.

What do those not going to the game have planned?

Enjoy the night Nicksters.

Smash em' lads.

Going to the semi last year against Freo with 90k+ fans and the noise was amazing given the one sided nature of the crowd. Arguably even a higher proprtion of CFC supporters tonight.

Now a Prelim with 95k is going to be full of angst and next level intensity. And thats just in the stands! Go Pies!
