Tried to love Richie, but really if Matera had marked like an AFL footballer instead of a mini leaguer... Richie must have REALLY gotten into his head about what he was going to do to him from behind.
I thought coles disposal was excellent tonight normally his decision making is poor sure matera dropped some marks but overall cole was good.
lokan was towelled by judd in the first qtr but then went on to cousins and negated him ok. Lokan could have easily dropped his bundle on cousins but stucked to his task.
Shaw played well was interesting MM mentioned of rhyce still suffering from chronic fatigue. But the monkey is still not off his back yet.
Fraser did any one notice he kept falling over a lot.
Maxwell looks good a lot of poise for a 2nd gamer iI did'nt realise how tall he is
Overall a good effert across the board again (kids playing well how long can they keep it up)but this is what is needed all the time . Big test next 2 games to see what progress has been made.
I believe that the boys won the game, purely on merit. There still appeared to be 20 on the field up til 1/4 time, but whatever MM said at the break certainly made the difference, and when Rocca went off, well the team came into its own.
I am afraid thatthe comments by Dennis Commetti (typical Westerners comments) were as bad as robert walles. Each time the Wet Toast got the ball and headed towards goal, all Commetti woul;d and could say was gee thats a greast bit of play and its a credit to the boys the way they are playing, butwas there any NICE comments when the PIES hit the front....of course not.
It seemed to me that E.Mc had a bit of the shites during the game and Commetti seemed to have buttoned the lip.
Overall good game, but a bit scary towards the end when wet Toast got to withing 12 points and MM thumped the bench.
Cloke played a great game,as did the centre line and Clement was really great.Actually the whole team played like a premiership team last night and I just might have to eat my OWN words come Sept.

PIES FOR PREMIERS.... YEAH WHEN!!!
We missed 2002 to 2009,BUT 2010 was OUR YEAR.. WATCH OUT 2018 here we come.We hope!!
Rhyce Shaw was real good last night. He had a chance to kick a goal about 40m in front of the goals but chose to pass it off ... it would have done wonders to his confidence if he had kicked that goal. But I'm happy that he's getting there, slowly but surely.
Mick's bluffing, Cam Cloke will play CHF, he's only saying that stuff to get up Chip Le Grand's nose after spraying him last night in post-match. And Culprit Lica went back to back Copelands in 01 and 02.
We respond to aggression and that is something I like. No intimidation, just fire back at them.
We face the Demons a team we have had the wood on for a while. They are playing solid football now and we should know next week if we are worthy of the eight.
A friend came along with our group who has not been to the footy for 20 years. They were totally blown away by the experience and brought a full membership.
The roar of our supporters is unequalled.
Shaw deserves a pat on the back for his effort, I will say it again as I am a huge non fan of him.
Credit where credit is due. I hope he keeps playing the same way.
I thought Fraser was disappointing in the ruck and Richards seemed to have had a bit of an off night. Cam Cloke did well in the very few centre bounces he contested but clearly lacked the body strength to handle the scragging whilst contesting throw-ins.
We were towelled in an area I thought pre-match would be a strength - Fraser and Richards 10 hitouts each, but Cox had 27 and Seaby 10!
Since we're playing Melbourne next, it might be better to throw Fraser on the ball from the start. Jeff White is in good form, is athletic and very good around the ground. We'll need someone ie Fraser, who can match him and can run all day, to go head-to-head with him. I don't think Guy is athletic enough for the job. Which will create some difficulty up forward.
In the GF, we were towelled trying to go one-out with Taz, but at least we now have Cam developing into a pretty good HFF, having played another very good game. I suspect he'll get the job at CHF, so we'll at least have someone other than Taz to create a contest.
There's a few people getting carried away with our three on the trot but it was really a fairly scrappy affair, pretty much what you'd expect of two sides sitting down the ladder, and not worth raving about. I don't know what the final numbers were, but at 3/4 time both sides had made something like 25-29 clangers each. We kicked four goals from Weagles clangers in the backline!
I thought the real difference was that our defence stood tall whilst we had a focal point up forward, which the Weagles didn't. In the end, Burnsie made the difference to us winning or losing and, although we were a chance to trample the Weagles into the ground midway through the 3rd quarter, we didn't take it and will have to be thankful we grabbed the four points.
you must agree that Rhyce Shaw is now one of the most important players in the Collingwood team.
When he came on tonight we were 3 goals down and he absolutely changed the game. Chris Judd is meant to be the best young player in the league and yet he was "pantsed" by our man Rhyce.
Not only that Rhyce was our best offensive force on the ground, virtually hitting the chest of forwards at will.
Rhyce is the word
He's got move, he's got feeling
Rhyce is the time, he's the place. he's the motion
Now Rhyce is the way we are feeling
Rhyce is the word
you guys gotta realise that Rhyce is the baromoter of our side
the better he plays, the better we play
well done Rhyce, you are now an out and out superstar
I agree Rhyce played well but lets see what he does next week. I'm sure after this match he will hopefully get his confidence back. It'll be all the better for the team, the more the team grows in confidence in each other will see his get better and better.
Its great we have won 3 in a row. Keep it up mighty pies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
I'm not getting excited yet, as we have yet to win against a top team (Essendon, Brisbane, St-kilda). However we need to get the points anyway we can at the moment, so a win is a win.
I thought Ryce's game was good although Judd began to break the tag in the last quater. However his disposal is getting a lot better. Hopefully C1 and Mcgough will follow along this path as well.
Tarks game was good, he is showing those who questioned his value to the team by hitting a target with every disposal. How close was his kick to being a goal, it looked like a couple of centimetres on the TV?
Cole was perhaps a little lucky but I think he is starting to show some consistency and he breaks the lines with hardness and speed.
Burns, Licca, Clement, Taz were awesome as always and are showing great leadership at the moment. Cam Cloke showed that he has a few tricks up his sleeve and he seems to have got the kicking genes, showed great poise to nail those two goals (right through the middle, BTW). His brother showed enormous courage all night especially under that skied ball in the last quater, I knew we were going to get home at that point. Stretch had a quiet night but kicked an important goal just before 1/4 time, needs to get hands to the ball in contests near our goal square.
points of concern are, Josh seemed a little lost up forward and didn't fare better in the ruck. He also needs to improve his overhead marking, seems he can only take them on his chest. They seem to get through his fingers a little too easily, maybe he should be doing some push ups on his fingers to build a bit of hand strength. I think having Stretch and C2 in the team should make him realise that his position is up for grabs so he has to step up.
The chip game is certainly frustrating and I hate when teams try and shut the game down, although he other side should try and man up a little better in all fairness. Rocca's injury was a worry but it seems like it is not as bad as first thought. What is the story on Johnson, ABC asia pacific cuts alot of channel nines telecast so I didn't find out what happened to him.
However it looks like we will have Bucks back next week so lets hope we can get a big win before the break.
Special Mention to Rhyce Shaw on an absolutely awesome game on Chris Judd. He was killing us but he stopped his run out of the middle and it was a credit to him.
Shawry ran, hit targets and made space!
B.O.G Scott Burns, I just love watching this guy play and last night he led the team so well. His hardness at the ball every single time, his kicking and marking were just awesome. Burnsey is just so important to our team!
All the boys did a great job and I hope Roids and Rocca overcome their injuries ASAP.

Very crucial 4 points. Who do we need to lose more tonight? North or the Tiges? The crows may rue the loss for the rest of the year...
If North wins we'll retain the 11th position, and if the Tigers win we'll slide down to 12th. Blues did us a favour by winning, but they are just below us now - only on percentage.
