Where was the Noble news announced/rumoured?

If true, maybe coaches thought we were one too many in smaller speedy defenders and Markov got the nod over Noble? Markov probably been in better form last 6-8 weeks and can push up onto a wing. Quaynor quick too but more versatile (bigger). Crisp and WHE have all floated back at times too.

Not too long for the team now.

In theory Markov of late might be in better form than Noble but without Noble he will also take on greater responsibility as he moves up in the pecking order and how he performs in that position is a wait and see.

Noble often wins or receives the ball from teammates in high pressure situations deep in our defence IMO and some people annoyingly then wonder why he sometimes stuffs up.

Markov will have to absorb more pressure situations than he's been used to this season and how he copes will be interesting.

Noble has been in 10 contested defensive one on ones this season, lost six.

Markov has been in 12, and lost only three. No room for both in side.

WHE offers more versatility.

I do like that the selection committee has the stones to make tough selection decisions in a critical match. Sets the tone for the finals series.

Smash 'em lads.

So are we all tipping:

In: Moore, Murphy, McReery (named as sub)
Out: Frampton, Noble, McRae

Gotta make room back there for Howe too.

Who have I missed?

With Noble dropped is this an indication that Nick is earmarked for a role across half back again when he returns?

For the record Noble is 3rd for meters gained average at Collingwood this season.

1. Start Cox in the Ruck each quarter with Cameron on bench
2. Never have Cox and Cameron on the ground at same time
3. Start Steele as the sub (controversial)
4. Default to ground hack kicks going inside 50 vs 9 iron sky kicks to May & Lever
5. Attack attack attack knowing Dees forwards should struggle to exceed 70 points.
6. Howe on May with a tag
7. Work over Gawn like the Port players have done at every opportunity
8. Drop Lipinski as the unlucky 3rd omission behind Frampton & Macrae
9. DeGoey: it's your time to deliver
10. McStay: it's time to deliver

Very perceptive observation there Swoop. That makes a lot of sense to me. As serviceable as Johnny Noble has been in that position, Nick Daicos is obviously an upgrade. Feel for him, but it looks like a team that can be superior in height and speed.

Who thinks that sub is frampton and could add another ruck option and can kind of throw his weight around down back.

I know that Framps did a great job in covering cameron and cox at times this year.

Kind of i feel he is one of our rucks and solid down back.

More of a brick wall type then run and dash.

Other then that i would like to see WHE or McRae as sub.

Agree on Nick on return to play across half back.

Got to bring the hardness and intensity against Dreamons, no match up for Noble in their forward line and Markov is taller and a better kick. Noble is unlucky and has played almost every game since being picked up in mid season draft. However that is probably why he was dropped as he's a mid season draft picked up when nobody else wanted him due to his size. Can't have Viney, Brayshaw, Pettraca and Pickett brushing through tackles by 175cm-ish tall player and kicking goals

Ginny has to play.

We will lose if Ginny isnt sub.

We have a great record when he comes onto play.

Kind of livens us up.

Macrae the Sub
McCrae is not necessarily the sub. He was the previous sub, now out. The term sub after his name refers only to last week's game.
I am flabbergasted by these selection decisions. How are both Ginni and Noble not in the team??
We need speed - hence Noble.
We need groundball cunning in F50 - hence Ginni.
I am at a loss.
