We bet Lions both in 2002 and 2003 in the QF.

Only to reverse the result in the GF.

In i think 2003 i though we won the flag when we bet them.

All i know that both 2002 and 2003 prelims were easy wins.

I was at all the 2003 finals and was sure we'd win the 03 flag once we beat them in the QF. GF day we were drowning our sorrows by 1/4 time

We ground that QF out to a slog and I remember thinking we had no more tricks up our sleeve. When Rocca got rubbed out for the GF I just knew we were gone

1989 was at VFL Park.

I remember the 1988 semi final at the MCG.

Was like our first time under leigh that we made finals.

We had our first taste and went down a fraction.

To me this was the burn to win the 1990 flag.

I remember the 88 semi and was a packed mcg as well.

1989 was at Waverley.

1990 we bet them all ends up and kind of ended their false dawn and melbourne never made finals again after 1990 untill around 1999 or 2000.

But, happily, Melbourne isn't serious about winning. Leaving Grundy out and playing Gawn, as I expect they will, makes Collingwood's job a lot easier.

Gotta say, Frampton may have played his way outa the team. Was sketchy at times against Essendon. And a couple of actrocious short kicks under no pressure against Brissy (missing the target 20m away).

I didn't notice that. But if so, will make the selection challenge of Murphy vs Frampton vs Cameron (?) easier.

From accounts the QF thursday is tipped to be the biggest night final ever.

Tipped to be around 98k by some experts and could even nudge that 100k mark.

Only thing is its a night game and on a Thursday if its was Fridany night then most definitely 99k or 100k but work the next day means more like 97k.

Weathers fine and clear too warm as well.

I think 98k would be great.

I can not re call the last time i was at a night game with around 97k there.
