I'm not suggesting he be dropped, but perhaps he could be useful as a sub in the finals, coming on when the pace has somewhat gone out of the game.
No way Jose, he’ll be cherry ripe by the final. He didn’t need to go full pelt against essendon, clearly cue in the rack by half time. Although I wouldn’t mind seeing him play forward a bit more.

Pace is not always leg speed

It can apply to brain speed. The ability to rapidly assess the state of play & make the correct decision for team opportunity

Interesting facts that I stumbled across. Happy to be corrected.

The 1958 Grand Final was the last time Collingwood defeated Melbourne in a finals match.
EF 1989: Dees 111 - Pies 88
SF 1988: Dees 95 - Pies 82
GF 1964: Dees 64 - Pies 60
SF 1964: Dees 134 - Pies 45
GF 1960: Dees 62 - Pies 14
GF 1958: Coll 82 - Dees 64
SF 1958: Dees 78 - Pies 33

Every toss of the coin is a 50/50 but I like upsetting trends.

The more we lose, the closer we are to a win. I’m a believer in probability and we are well overdue. So logic says we should win and I think we will by 14.
I term the current Collingwood attack based strategy “Unceasing Waves” like on a stormy and windy day with rough seas. A Perfect Storm ☔️

That’s correct.

Our overall finals record against Melbourne is 5 wins, 1 draw, 16 losses. We’re due for a win against them.

THE EQUATION, is like a Binomial is, simple, we win this big Qual Final , we can win the Premiership, we lose and we cannot win it, be too hard, like last season. Victory is paramount in this match, vital, we MUST win it. Must. Here ends the lesson.

In the current system, when did a team last lose a Qualifying Final and win the Premiership?

You clearly don't watch the Dees that often. Watch Sunday's game against Sydney. It was like a prelim. They thrive on pressure and contest, it's what their game is based around.

They dont mind the contest. Viney is their barometer I reckon. Be great if someone could sit him on his ass early. Smart use goinginside 50 can show up their defenders too (just like it can show up ours...). Pressure between the arcs is going to be critical.
It's never as good/nor bad as it seems...

I'm not sure, but we beat the Lions in the QF in 2002, only for the Lions to come back and pip us in the GF. :(

We bet Lions both in 2002 and 2003 in the QF.

Only to reverse the result in the GF.

In i think 2003 i though we won the flag when we bet them.

All i know that both 2002 and 2003 prelims were easy wins.
