Pre-Match. Magpies v. Bombers. All comments.

With De Goey back I reckon we'll beat the Bummers by 5 or 6 goals.
That's all we need to get our confidence back.
Come finals time, with Moore, Murphy, McReery and Hill also back in, we should easily account for the Dees, who are nothing but down hill skiers. They hold no fear for me at all. Go Pies!

Play our VFL team, rest the senior squad, and let 2 Metre Peter have his merry way with us.
Just saying
We are on top of the ladder, this rubbish about avoiding teams is just crap and if anyone is tanking in rd 24 to avoid an opponent week 1 of the finals then they've already lost.
To win the premiership we likely have to beat Melbourne, Port and Brisbane. Tanking to Essendon doesn't change this...

We have one player called Markov.
Carmichael didn't sign his player contract like that.
McInnes isn't Mississippi, it's not that hard.

I think that anyone thinking a game against Essendon will be easy is fooling themselves. Scott will trying to get them up for a performance based on pride no matter what and we know they always lift for us, no matter where they are on the ladder.
Also I think we better hope Murphy comes up fit because a backline based on Frampton and Howe as the talls alone isn't going to cut it. Quaynor, good player that he is, has nonetheless looked a bit exposed without Darcy covering the majority of the intercepts.
I wouldn't have Cox rucking solo for the entire game either. We need him fit for finals not half banged up for the first week of finals due to handling solo ruck duties against Essendon. I think Cameron is a better first ruck choice anyway due to his work around packs etc - we just need him to hold a few again like he was doing earlier in the season. For me a Cameron/Cox combination is our optimum.
I expect this to be closer than most other posters are saying, but it depends if we can get the chaos running game going. But if Essendon can disrupt that and get that block across their half forward line working that other teams have used against us so effectively, we might be struggling a bit at the end.
Magpies by 6-10 points.

Oh I know this. Ask a Scot about the difference about Macrae and McRae...inxs88 wrote:You're a spelling Nazi like me. Happy to bring in Freddy, to bust some doper bodies up, but... somebody posted that he got injured during the VFL game just gone, although I haven't seen anything to validate that on official website?90 nice wrote:Who is coy and kind of entertaining the thought of selecting kruger this week and if it pays off could be a weapon up our sleeves come September

And wouldn’t our likely qualifying finals options take on a different look if the Saints were to beat the Lions and the Dees defeat the Swans.
Nothing wrong with waxing lyrical but there’s a lot of water to go under the bridge before we will finally know our actual opponent on Sunday arvo.
What a great final round of home and away footy.

We just need to concentrate on winning and nothing else.
Let the others expend their energy in hypothesising the matchup possibilities.
We’re on a mission to win a premiership which will require us to win three consecutive games against very good opposition to achieve that.
Eye on the prize
