All I can say is enough of all the excuses, reasons and lectures about this slump. If we lose next week, the club will have to plan for next season. The fact is that we are simply not good enough at the moment to win games. We need to improve our game, lift as a team and go in much harder if we are to achieve ultimate success. This will be a tough ask but can be done with a passion to go all out. I’m honestly unsure if they can this year but it is gettable if fully committed to the one goal. I’m nervous about their chances.
I term the current Collingwood attack based strategy “Unceasing Waves” like on a stormy and windy day with rough seas. A Perfect Storm ☔️

Well lets start with the positives:
- We know now that Cox has to be the ruck, Cameron's last month has been appalling
- Having Cox on the bench meant we were one man short all game, and murphs injury added to that, so to get to a ton was ok

Negatives
- some players were unsighted out there, Sidebottom and Elliott
- Clearances are a huge worry, can we have both titch and Adams in the same team? We lacked run
- McCreery.....fair dinkum what has happened to the terminator?

Lions too good for us. They knew if they won tonight they are virtually guaranteed a GF spot.

All my optimism has faded tonight. Wrong time of the year for a form slump, injuries. We might win a final but I am worried about so much about our team at the moment.
It’s a long season and we look like we are feeling that right now.
Btw, Pendles fantastic.

Seriously club. $$%^%%$ say something about the illegal blocks and holds on Pendles at ball ups, it’s a disgrace Neale and the other turd were allowed to get away with it. We have the money, pay the fine.
These **** things again:

Umpires
Nick Foot (2), Curtis Deboy (11), Hayden Gavine (14), Robert Findlay (23)

Everytime we got momentum, that %$^%$ Deboy pulled one out of his arse for them, which led to an open Bears F50, for one of their front running cowards to run onto goal

At least the Bears didn't get a look at the MCG prior to September; the one saving grace

Fist to the back of his head and didn’t get a free. Also got clotheslined in a tackle and no free either

When you lose many of your top 6, your bottom 6 need to step up. They can’t. Moore, Daicos, JDG have no under studies. Throw in Hill. It’s a sharp cliff.
I just don’t see how we turn it on when it matters and for all those supporters who think we can, feel free to throw this back in my face if we do. I hope you’re right.
The match day thread is for unfiltered BS knee jerk reactions. The time for level headed comment comes after.

I thought he got whacked in the head in the marking contest before he went off and they immediately pulled him out of the game?

Of course it was the next contest after they got a ridiculously soft holding free kick…

I’m not disappointed tonight, never expected to win and now everyone can talk up the Lions as flag favourites whilst we await them at the MCG on the last Saturday in September.

It is the midfield stupid.
You can not go into a match with a midfield of Sidey Adams, lipinski
Mitch Cameron and pendles.
There is no pace there.
No bull in there.
Again the opposition best midfielder killed us.
This week it was Neil and last week it was Dangerfield.
It happens most weeks.
I said we needed to experiment with a player like IQ in the middle.
What other option have we??????
Mitchell and Sidey are so slow they are embarassing.
Cox needs to play in the finals.
Cameron is hopeless in the ruck, but he is ok around the ground.
Something has to happen

Fact is, even if we lose against Essendon next week, at worst we'll finish 2nd and most likely play a qualifying final against Port Adelaide at the MCG (a side we've already beaten twice this season), after a week off and hopefully with something like our best side available. I wouldn't be writing us off just yet.

Because they’ll all be back in September and 2/3 potential opponents hate the MCG….

Yep that was the one, square in the back of the head. Free kick to any other player not wearing black and white.

Elliott smashed his head on the ground and walked it off
probably scared of going through concussion protocols for next week and beyond.

Pat needs a rest in the two's or something.

Ginnie isnt as fast as bobby but has good footy IQ.
we didnt replace the loss of speed in the forward line...especially against a big slow backline like the lions have.

i expect a few changes in the team for the next game.
