It's an indictment on the coaches for lack of getting games into the young brigade... Hawthorn anyone?

The ONE shining light yesterday was the never say die attitude displayed by Pendlebury.
He busted his 34yo ass and never gave up.

Yep, there were times last night he was looking particularly slow at the bounces (or should I say throw ups after a shite bounce)....just think with Mitchell in there as well we are a bit lacking in explosiveness....Lipinski's effort helped in that regard.

I'd like to see him as a high half forward, he is pretty good overhead

^^^Agree RMB...Great win but we looked treacle-slow at centre bounces for most of the night. Dangerfield probably made it look worse with his explosive burst out of the middle but we have a need for speed. Not sure what the options are though? Thought they might have rotated Elliot through at times and potentially McCreery for bursts. Hill's probably too slight but wouldn't mind seeing a bit of his creativity in there occasionally to mix things up.

^ do you mean against Dangerfield, one of the best midfielders of our generation.
The same Dangerfield whom at 17 won the 100m and 400m titles at the Victorian Secondary Schools Athletics?

Like I said - Dangerfield probably accentuated the problem, but we've looked slow in there all year and he wasn't Robinson Crusoe in putting a gap on our midfield group from centre clearances last night. We also didn't have great coverage on the defensive side. Both issues are linked and need to be addressed.

The whole team has looked slow the last few weeks.

Interestingly Pendles was rated higher than Danger last night, according to AFL rankings. I know that’s not everything, but how damaging was Danger really?

He was very dangerous in bursts but didnt seem to be able to sustain it for an entire quarter and it seemed mainly was important to them in clearing the centre after the centre bounce. Pendles seemed to go with him for most of the night and did a fair job but was left flat footed if Dangerfield got away on the burst.

Dangerfield is finished. Pendles isn’t. Simple, really.
