Had he been there, we would’ve snatched that.
Bit harsh on JDG.
Melbourne were good. stopped our un in the guts well.
As another poster said. 11-2 into the bye.
Not bad

Didn’t deserve to win today. Melbourne dominated us for most of the game and were so effective at forcing turnovers.

Still we nearly snatched it in the end.

I’m sure Fly will work out what went wrong… no JDG hurt is in the clearances but still thought we would win this game.

Bye has arrived. Regroup and go again for the 2nd half of the year.
Yea, not the end of the world as some would have you believe. We'll get some players back after the bye. We would have learnt a lot from this loss. Who honestly would have thought we would be on top of the ladder, 11-2 with the highest percentage at the bye.

That was a finals like game. We'll learn from it and get better for it.

Too predictable today exiting the backline. We missed De Goey (though today wasn't his fault). I think this might be Pendles' last season.

Not hard to work out at all 5 of our best out vs 1 of theirs.

Amazing we got so close. Good for our future, as long as the boys learn their lessons from today. But like Rawhammer or forward line will determine how far we go this season. What could we do with a big key forward like Tex Walker, the King brothers or Peter Wright? Our small forwards were poor today, but not helped with terrible entries. Rucks got smashed. Win to Grundy.

What was the issue between Cox and Petraca at the end?

We’re lucky we didn’t lose by 6 + goals, they missed so many & if I hear one more supporter say not gonna boo Grundy, I will fkn spew, his goal was the difference in the end.

It's a miracle really that we only lost by 4 points.
Huge games from Darcy Moore and IQ.
Naicos should've been played more in the forward line...they needed help.

Im not at all concerned, they had one star out, we had six missing. Imagine if De Goey, Sidearse, and Ginni, had played, let alone Howe, McStay, we win. Better to lose now to these overrated Toffs than in September, when we will have our best team on the park, thats when we will put these bastards to the sword, make no mistake. 8)

I am not concerned by this. I think Melbourne played a perfect game save for finishing their work. They won at contest and tactically too. Our run and gun game fell over a bit today.

There are losses you can learn from and I have full confidence in the players and coaches about what they learn from today.

It was great to have Lipinsky back today - he played pretty well and will be better for the run.

Mihocek was nullified today but remember that Elliott and Ginnivan did not play and both are proven goal scorers and will be an improvement on Harrison and McInnes - good match for those lads to have btw.

De Goey and Oliver are the two best players for each team and neither played today.

Melbourne set up very well behind the ball and Salem played a terrific match.

A week off to freshen up and reload for the final 10 games of the season.
Daicos, impossible angle ... Goal!

Get over it, you're such a bad loser. We lost, it wasn't Grundys goal, we lost because we weren't up to it today, we have a few starting 22 to come back and we aren't the finished product. Melbourne are.

Not bothered at all by the loss, one that I felt we have had coming for awhile...it could well be the reset we need.

The most important thing i hope is no more injuries.

Remarkable we only lost by 4 points...consider we really only played the first quater.

I do wonder if a few of the boys were unwell. Disposals were usually sloppy
