They also forgot to mention Allan, who didn't play VFL last week as he was the holdover emergency. I don't know how likely it is that he debuts against Melbourne, but that would tend to indicate that he's somewhere at the head of the queue of the players mentioned in that write-up, not behind.Pies2016 wrote:^^^
Except that’s not the AFL listed Tom Wilson ( albeit the AFL version kicked 4 goals ) Of that lot, Ruscoe was probably our best performer but we’re very stable down back. In terms of finding a mid, if Lipinski is fit, I’m taking him every day over Carmichael or MacRae. It’s going to be the match committees most interesting selection meeting to date in 2023.
Pre-Match. Pies v. Dees. All comments.

I'd be amazed if Allan debuts in a big match, particularly after 2 weeks off.
I viewed his inclusion in the squad was nothing more than compassionate grounds, in order for a young 1st year player to catch up with family and deilver a 'taste' of squad life on the road.
Watching the VFL, he moves over the ground well so naturally falls into the meters gained inclusions, but is he ahead of Carmichael and Markov on that front? I just can't see it.

^ from 4.58. Some good insight as to how JDG is travelling and looking set to do another mini-preseason.
Just another clear, articulate and informative Fly presser.

If anyone is still left wondering how Lipinski fits straight into the best 22, listen to Flys comments about him. Best transition runner and best player hitting up into our own F50. Been saying it for 12 months, he’s an important piece of the puzzle. Let’s hope his second shoulder reco is a better result.

Watched the presser and was reminded we’ll again play in the match of the round in front of a full MCG. Just another massive blockbuster for Collingwood eh?
Excuse the braggadocio, but win, lose or draw this is the best club in the land. Even though at times it’s frustrating when everything that happens is magnified by the media, ask yourself: would you rather follow anyone else?
Not. Bloody. Likely.

Melbourne superstar Clayton Oliver has been admitted to hospital as he battles an infected blister according to Channel Seven’s Mitch Cleary.
While Oliver was set to respond from a hamstring injury for Monday’s blockbuster clash against Collingwood, he’s now facing a new battle with a badly infected blister.
Cleary says Oliver has been subjected to an IV drip as he battles the infection after he missed training on Tuesday.
