Worked all day,settled down to watch the game live on WIN.
Opened first stubby and phone rings before i could have a swig.
Its my son wanting something brought around to his house..grrrr,what timing! so being the dutiful dad i am,the wife insisted i go and do it.
So when i sat down again to watch the game it was 14 to us and 1 to them.
Not long later it was 14 all.
Johnno dashed thru the midfield and josh soccered a goal then we had a new innovation from channel 10.
they must be a bit miffed at not having sky cam so the have come up with the free kick during an ad break.
not happy with just one,we had this new innovation shoved down our face twice in a row.
This was closely followed by another couple of innovations that will not catch on.
the soft free and 50 mtr penalty routine.
seems that the umps cant make decisions during play properly so they try to give away all the kicks behind play.
kicks for jumper pulling,name calling,pushing and shoving were awarded,whereas during play players could get elbowed in the face jumped on, tripped etc and of course its play on.

For a change the pies were on the right end of the umpiring pineapple,but it still isnt what i want to watch.

second term begins with us peppering our fwds with unguided missiles and it comes back quicker than it goes in.
here is a short summary of our fwd attacks for the term.
Woey grabs ball at clearance dashes to 50 and kicks it OOB.
Johhno gets a free at 50 passes to swan at 70 he runs and woey almost marks and roos clear and score a point.
some great work by didak passes to richards and he snaps truly.
Leon dashes thru a pack,beats off 4 opponents,kick falls short,daks crumbs kicks backwards 50 mtrs to tarks who has a shot which falls short.
Johnno and lika thru strength and determination team up to get it from back pocket to fwd 50 then its criss cross and daks kicks a point.
Burns kicks a goal and woey a point in a qtr where the word wasteful football would be quite appropriate.
45 to us 42 to them
our tackling is fierce,teamwork great,skills so so.cant have everything.
taz is double teamed all night and does well to get a kick at all.his chasing and second efforts stand out.

cam cloke goes into ruck and does well early in the 3rd term.
Didak is having a night out,unique skils,chases hard and second efforts are a feature of his play.
taz marks an ant left foot pass and misses a sitter.
Ant marks at 50 and kicks it OOB. Lika puts out his foot to try to trip but it doesnt connect,i think he will be ok,the ump didnt pay it at the time.
but the way they are going that doesnt mean much.
taz gets a free for not very much at all and goals,then he goals again after he dishes up 2 superb second effort tackles and is rewarded.daks roves a ball in the pocket passes backwards 50 to ant who dobs it from there.
tazza marks and misses again.
Corky mycareersgone is pinged in the ruck and josh goals.
we will take it like we have the others but i reckon north are on the wrong end of the scumps tonite.
taz marks at 50 ,passes to lonie at 90,who dishes off to johnno at 80 then he bombs it OOB.
johnno snaps also goes OOB roos kick in and MCG marks it and misses a sitter.
73-45 it could be game over,if only we were more direct.
North have 25 possesions in the last qtr befor clemnt takes a mark in the backline,lucky for us they are more wasteful down front than we are.
leon snaps a goal and its a 28 point lead with 10 minutes to go.
just as leon is about to make it 34 points daks is pinged for something behind play.roos goal.

woey marks at 50,we have 6 more possessions and its with Cole at 70,swan marks at 60 passes sideways to lokan at 61 taz marks at 40 and goals.

I shudder to think what gary lyons telestrater would look like,it would be like a chinese checker board.

I once compared our fwd style to the italian armys approach.advance backwards...im not wrong am i?
MCg recieves a hospital handball and just misses a seat in the ambulance,he groggily hands to cloke and he misses a sitter.
we go back and fwd until the siren.
game over we win...but im not watching it again.

the highlight of a dull game was the way we backed ourselves thru the midfield..johnno,lika,MCG,daks,Lonie gave us run,rhyce did ok,cam cloke may end up with a spot as second ruck to back up richards.
gotta say the kid was worth waiting for.

and lets hope the scumps have a new coach by then.
