Kind of figuured that Pendles was going to sit this one out.

I think he needs a rest and back firing v sydney.

Ill bring in McRae for Pendles.

Is it that his eye has not come up in time thats why he isnt playing.

Concern for Sidebottom as well he has this illness.

I feel there will another late out as well have this feeling that kruger just needs another week for his shoulder to settle again and like he did cop a knock to it Anzac day just needs another week i feel.

All in all we have depth not like we did a few years ago.

Still think Pies can win it by 3-4 goals.

Weather will suit us an early light shower or 2 then fining up for the game and temps around 18 degs

I'd have Kelly in the starting 22. 100% disposal efficiency, 5 possessions (2 contested), 2 marks, 155m gained and a tackle, all in 30 minutes on the ground.
He looked ready for the big time to me. 194cm @ 96kg... unleash the beast.

The short break will do little to stop our momentum.

The Bombers had a dabble at slowing him down with the sly one to the guts and they fell all over him whenever they could but he hardly goes to ground either. Keep an eye out for the extra attention he will start to receive compared to others.
Mate I agree
Do you think it’s part of the plan to keep him close to Maynard at the beginning of the game in case someone tries to really knock him around ?
I remember I think it was late third quarter he was at a centre bounce and stringer tried to get his shoulder into Nick and Mitchell stepped straight in front of him
It seems the older or more physical players are really protective of the kid
I can’t remember Pendles remonstrating quite so actively as he did last weekend
And the melee at quarter time
A couple numbers tried to get near him and Maynard and checkers reacted very quickly
Checkers actually grabbed 2 bombers players and Maynard came straight in and pushed his way into the middle of it
We all know Maynard won’t take a backward step in the physical battle

I had the same impression. Will looked totally different. I hope he gets another game on Sunday as well.

According to the AFL website, Finn McCrae has been called up to replace the injured Pendles. That is strange - I didn't realise that we are allowed to do that. I thought the replacement had to be one of the members of our extended squad.

Thought so too, it was odd.
Don't mind McCrae though.

I am wondering if there are a few other niggles we dont know about. Something in the coach's presser about "a few other boys" resting up or coming up (along with Sidebottom) which piqued my interest.

We'll see in a few more minutes...

I think it's ok because the offical emergencies hadn't been named (but will be shortly). If it occurs after that then any replacement is meant to come from the listed emergencies.

Yep, Macrae's into the 26, not necessarily the 22. I suppose anything's possible, but unless it's a like-for-like swap one would assume the originally named extended bench are ahead of Finn in the queue and that he'll be one of the three emergencies come game day.

A player can be replaced in the extended squad of 26 if they are out injured before the team is announced which will be soon.
