Send Pa Marmo your best wishes thread

Post by think positive »

I’m sure many will remember Nuxta or Pa Marmo as he changed his name too. He had more than a few intense convos on the site!

He hasn’t posted in a while, he has seven grandsons to dote on!

On Wednesday he was involved in a terrible accident, and quite frankly looking at the car, it’s hard to believe he survived. He was slowing with traffic on the way to work, and a B double didn’t notice the traffic slowing, and smashed into the back of his work ute, thank god for the tow bar so the chassis took a lot of the impact. The impact made him hit the car in front, so his ute crumpled both ends. He had to be cut from the car.

We spoke to him this morning, he’s pretty banged up, having surgery on his hip joint tomorrow. Fractured pelvis, 5 busted ribs and fractures to his spine. What ever your beliefs please chuck up a prayer for him, wether you loved or didn’t love him as a poster, he will always be a member of our Magpie army, black and white through and through.

Get well soon mate. Love always, Jo. Xxxx

Not sure how they go after a Pelvis, but when Mum broke her hip, they pretty much had her out of bed doing exercises as soon as the Anesthetic wore off, but before they'd let her go home I had to do a whole bunch of modifications to the house which the OT had to inspect and sign off on.

Might be different as she was alone and he'll have people around to help if required.

Just got back from visiting Pa in rehab, he’s doing well, but oh man he was so lucky. Not for being in the accident, but for surviving it fullstop. Yes I cried! He’s got along road ahead to be back on his feet, but he’s in good spirits xx
