match report it was crowpie for dinner

Post by Ed from WA »

match report from a far off loungeroom

Wife talked me into watching a movie from 5.30 so i could watch the game without knowing the scores beforehand.
Wont do that again,it was a shit movie,i was 3 parts pissed before the game came on and all the ads and pre amble etc drove me mad.
i didnt want all the what ifs,all i wanted was to see the game and go to bed.
now ive watched it again on fox,it wasnt much better.but less ads.
the umpires tried their best, our fwds tried their best, but all that effort didnt get adelaide over the line.

rather an unforgettable game, except we got 4 points .

the back line, especially wakes and clement were superb al night.
the 2 clokes did their bit, johnno was once again a driving force from the back half.
lonie and Cole teamed together well a few times, the tackling was good, the skills were woeful,as was our shooting for goal.
taz was a standout as the best fwd on the ground all night, liked the way daks presnted all night, bits of flair, good skills around the ground but he is one of worst the offenders at wasting shots for goal.
MCG got plenty of it,after watching it twice now,a lot of his possesions drive us into attack, its the lack of effort by blokes like rocca and leon who dont present themselves enough.
I really think rocca is at times the laziest fwd we have ever had.
what other options do we have though?
for a bloke with his marking and kicking ability he just doesnt hurt the opposition enough times a night.

Thought richards was stiff to be pinged in a few throw ins,all 3 times he got pinged for body use the crows got goals from the next plays.

umpires are getting worse.
I cant help thinking that if it had been a grand final they would have found a free to the crow who fell over in the last 20 secs or paid that mark in the square.

but we were our own worst enemies.
we shouldnt have been so little in front.
the game should have been nailed much earlier.

but at least we fought the last qtr out unlike when we folded up against the last rabble we played.

looking fwd to next week now,if only for the fact that its live on WIN and i wont have to watch a lame movie with the wife before the game next week.
